okay guys found this this morning during my early morning coffee zoning out time.

DON"T..I repeat DON"T open this link unless you really feel like getting furious today because if you love mini's this WILL upset you. Yes, it's supposed to be funny..and it would be hilarious IF you didn't know anything about people not riding mini's 'cus of their size.

Good job this isn't an America ad. I'd sure be boycotting this product.

This ad has been a topic twice since I've been on the forum. At first folks had the same reaction as you, and rightly so. But, some watched it very closely and decided the riders usually had at least one foot on the ground, so weren't putting all their weight on the horses.

Oh, I didn't realized it had been on before. Oups sorry. Even with on foot on the floor you're still going to be putting a load of weight down. I hate to think how many shoots it took to get that final footage, looks like at least one is having trouble lifting a leg to move forward. I guess I just don't think it's too cute to have a laugh at someone or in this case..somethings expense.

Sorry anyways..didn't mean to re-hash and old post.

Oh and HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone. Have a great time and be safe tonight. :aktion033: :aktion033: :aktion033: :aktion033: :aktion033:

I must be a bad person then - because I thought the ad was funny too... no one is actually sitting down hard on the minis - but merely straddling them and moving with them.

It seems to me that some of those guys might be in some pain :risa8: ... and not the minis... heh.

I doubt if it took many takes... I mean - it is not as if any of the horses spooked and galloped away with a rider...

I think the ad is really stupid and don't see anything funny about it but maybe I don't have a sense of humor for such things. Looks to me like they are putting weight on the backs of those little guys.....really doesn't set a good example of what a little horse should be used for and I have seen stupid big people act like a little horse is something that can be abused just for the fun of it! My feelings exactly.

And you wonder why we get calls wanting to buy miniatures for all sizes to ride ???

The untrained eye of America sees that stupid ad and says ok, let's go buy us some of those.............

I agree- I thought it was a pretty stupid ad when I first saw it BUT the real problem I have with it, apart from the fact that it is a bad picture to be painting of what Minis are good for, is that you cannot remember what it is advertising and so, by definition, it is a "Bad Ad".

The ONLY purpose of an ad is to sell the product, which this dismally fails to do.

Actually - it does sell the "product". CEGETEL is a telecommunications/internet provider... so when they say Need More Speed? and show a take-off on old Westerns with minis... with bullets and arrows being thrown... if you used CEGETEL, it would be faster and more accurate.

But then - apparently I am one of those ignorant lower life forms who smiled at this ad.....

Marty - anyone who saw that ad and came away from it thinking that all sizes could actually ride a mini - would be a few pickles short a jar, anyway. That ad alone would not encourage such cretins to do anything... they come to those conclusions all on their own...

Sorry to disagree with you - I think it is quite humorous and don't see how any of them are being harmed.
