These are some of my favorite books to read. Just reread Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O'Dell. I think it was made into a movie but cannot find it on Netflix. (As I recall, it didnt' follow the book very well) I do not care for other books by this author, however.

I think I have this book too but I haven't read it since I was in 5th grade. I think I do remember them making a movie of it, but I can't remember if I ever saw it.

Speaking of teenage books, now I want to read Indian in the Cupboard! Haven't read that since 6th grade, and the movie still makes me cry to this day. Lol

I honestly, ADMITTEDLY, enjoy many books that could be labeled "young adult".

When I read, it's only for fun unless it relates to business. For fun, I just want to be entertained, and I really do not want to think too hard.

I've enjoyed all of the Twilight books, but a lot more than them, The Host, also by Stephenie Myer. It was easy to follow, but had a lot more depth and apappealhan the Twilight books, IMO.

Part of why I enjoy some "teen" (a/k/a "young adult") books is that they're just flat out easily entertaining.

I think if someone who likes that genre has not already looked into Janet Evanovich's "Stephanie Plum" series, they will probably like them, too. AS WELL AS anything by Molly Harper (light, easy to follow, and fun!).

Happy reading! It would be a hard order for me to come up with a more enjoyable hobby short of horses

Ok, fine, I admit it....I too am a Young Adult junkie. I am currently reading the 'Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen' trilogy. The majority of books on my shelves are YA books, with a small variety of good adult and childrens books too. I am in the process of collecting RL Stine's FearStreet and Point books, and 90% of the books on my Amazon Wishlist are meant for people 25 and under. I do have some classics too....Dickens, Austen, Bronte, Dumas....

Most of what I read is for young adults, but I am picky. I like books with depth and I like books that bring me into another world and make me think.

The Host is one of my favorites! Definitely Stephanie Myer's best.

I have tried to read the Stephanie Plum series and just couldn't do it. I don't think I got past book one.

Oh, I loved Indian in the Cupboard!! I like the preteen series Canterbury Crest mostly because it has to do with horses.

I also read a lot of Young Adult books! Island of the Blue Dolphins was my mom's favorite book when she was a child so I've read it couple times, but not recently. I think maybe I saw the movie, but can't really remember! I have a long list of YA authors I like and usually they don't write fast enough!

I am listening to I Am Number Four right now, almost finished and I really like it. Similar to the movie so far, but more details.
