Kimberle, I'm sure he said he wants to keep Warrior company on his journey over here to Australia

Actually I think "Warrior" would really love it if some of "Mercedes & Spirits" daughter's could join him... I don't know that he's so keen on any other male competition. Ha!

Loved the video, thanks for sharing. Oh my, if I had that energy I would have a cleaner house. ha ha, what a fancy prancer. hansome boy and high stepping and adorable, looks like a handful too, gotta laugh at the tail in the air. I am learning about conformation from a friend, so my opinion is green so bear with me please, but did anybody else think he toes out a bit in the front end? Looked straight to the knees, but parks wider at the feet and a little bit turned out at the hoof, on one foot more than the other? Perhaps just how he was stopping, He didn't stop too often so it was hard to tell, there was one where he stopped next to a rock and I was thinking I saw that. If not, chalk this comment up to somebody who is still learning. Also for some education for me... what exactly do you call his color? Still studying all the variations of color. thanks

Oops, for some reason I thought a perlino's skin was darker, but it is not, I just looked it up. All the double dilutes have pink skin. The shadows in the picture make it tough to see the darker mane, tail, and legs, which perlinos usually have. And by darker I mean a darker creamy color than the rest of the coat.

The reason I asked you is I wondered if you'd say you thought it was a slightly different color for a perlino. It may just be my eyes, but I sometimes think a perlino's skin is a bit more orangy-pink and a cremello's skin is true pink. You ever think that?

I know it's extremely difficult to distinguish what color he is by the photo and video that we took that day since it was really sunny outside and I had just bathed and clipped himdown. I do know that he is a perlino... You can't see it in the photo or video for that day but his mane, forelock and tail all have the red coloration in them. His sire is our silver dunskin stallion "Marystown Mercedes" and his dam is another one of our "Sir" daughter's. She's a smokey black, bald face, blue eyed, frame overo "Alamos Sir's Spendid Tierra". I think he's very nice. There's not much I could complain about, including the color. That color doesn't scare me at all!

And I know what you mean about being born with the testicles ready to go!

Good luck with that!

Off the subject... I actually own two 2008 fillies from your stud "Ten L's Spirits Afterglow" that you acquired from Joy. The one's a tiny Buckskin Pinto and the other is a solid Buckskin. I haven't had an opportunity to take photos of all of ours yet so they aren't on the website. We usually tend to wait until ours are yearlings before we decide which ones we'd like to place. So far the fillies look nice.

Kimberle,

I didn't know that! I would love to see any pictures you have - even the ones you saw when you purchased them. I'm so sad that I don't have any of his babies coming in 2009. I bred him to a couple of mares when he arrived, but they both are my "hard to settle" mares and of course neither took.

But true to my luck, the one outside mare I had here that we bred to him took.

So I'll at least get to see one in 2009 but won't have one of my own. Oh well!

Would love to see your babies. Maybe PM me with their names as I like to keep track of each of them.

Thanks!
