Have you gone and seen it yet? What did you think?

Well basically im a HUGE wimp and at some parts i was scared...lol...it was only when things would 'pop' up from no where. But it thought it was good.

I've not seen it yet. We just never seem to make time to GO to the movies, but we give our NetFlix account a workout sometimes. So I put it on our que.

There was an episode of "A Haunting" (tv show -- on Discovery, I think) that profiles the same story the movie is based on. I watched it but don't really remember a lot about it other than I thought it was scary.

Has anyone seen a 2-hour documentary thing (also Discovery, I think) called something like "A Haunting in Georgia"? OMG... THAT one scared me BAD!!!

Yep, I saw it on Friday. It was really good. There are very few scary movies worth seeing anymore, but this one deserves a look for sure. They, of course, added to the story (Hollywood and all), but it was good.

I totally agree Matt. Some of the movies that are supposed to be scary can make me laugh. They are so ridiculous. And some are nothing but blood and guts. That is not scary to me......that is just gross. But I did see A Haunting In Connecticut on television and it was really good. So I am looking forward it it hitting the video store.

Maybe it's just me but most movies just don't "scare" me anymore. Some are very unnerving like the movie UNTRACEABLE with Diane Lane. But it really wasn't "scary".

Hey Celtic Hill

If you want to be really scared...rent "The Exorcist". Just check with you're mom that it's okay (pretty shocking, graphic, scary stuff

). The best horror movie hands-down!

Well, it sounds like this is a good movie to watch. I hear it's based on a true story. I used to watch the television show, A Haunting but I can't anymore. I started hearing things in my house like doors opening and closing so I quit watching. I have an over active imagination and don't need help on a daily basis to scare myself.

I hear ya. I'm the exact same way. After continuously watching the A Haunting episodes I came home from Toronto. Kevin had left for a few days. Well, all the power went out in the house; there was no wind, no snow, no storm, etc. Then I hear a scratching in the ceiling in the bathroom. All I could think of was The Exorcist (where she hears the scratching in the attic and thinks it's rats). I ran out of the house and was afraid to go back in LOL. I kept hearing stuff after that and was really afraid to be in the house alone. I finally told whatever it was to leave and stop scaring me. It worked. I haven't been fearful at all and feel that whatever it was is now gone. I think sometimes when you watch this stuff too much it somehow leaves you vulnerable because you've been scared, and I believe that malevolent forces can feed off of that fear. So...as much as I want to watch that hotel haunting episode, Danielle, I think I'll pass LOL...

Matt.

I think I should organize a stay at the "Youth Hostel" here in Ottawa, the old jail which is haunted. We could have a group reunion for LB members who live not too too far from Ottawa, like those in Toronto and closer. I think we would have a blast and we could all do the seance they have at midnight on death row

The Exorcist was AWFUL!

I laughed (AT it, not with it) just about the entire time. It was probably scary when it came out, but when you watch it after seeing The Grudge and The Grudge 2 consecutively in one night (and laughing at those too), the whole pea soup ordeal is quite comedic. Plus the sexual references she makes while she's possessed had me and my friend falling off the couch laughing. Then again, maybe I'm just heartless.

Aaaaaaaand I don't think anyone can take it seriously after seeing it in 30 seconds reinacted by bunnies....

The Ring was pretty good. At least it had a decent plot. The sequal was bad though.

I'm looking foreward to seeing The Haunting in Connecticut... hopefully it isn't just another "jump out and go boo" horror movie.

I like watching "Ghost Adventures" on the travel channel
Even better is Ghost Hunters - on the sci-fi channel! I do not like Most Haunted - they do not investigate anything scientifically and those three women constantly shriek their heads off about everything.

Check out a black & white movie - maybe from the early 60s? -- called The Haunting... it is quite good - without making use of CGI or elaborate special effects... it made me jump when I first saw it about 10 years ago!

Oh come Matt, you aren't scared are you???? My girlfriend Val and I went and we had a blast and yes the place is haunted. Come on, it would be FUN!!!! A group of us from LB to boot. Just say the word anyone and everyone and I will organize it

I wish I could find movies that I find scary instead of funny! *sigh*

I watch them to be amused.

Tag we have talked about this one before! Mrs. Dudley quotes. "In the dark......In the night". LOVED IT. The remake was nothing like the original.

I know I know - I love that movie!! I first saw it by myself when I was about 15 (previous post should have said 30 years ago! Wishful typo!) ... and it made my hair stand on end. I am not as easily spooked now - but I do have my very own copy of it should I feel the urge...

Mrs. Dudley: I set dinner on the dining room sideboard at 6. I clear up in the morning.

I have breakfast for you at 9.

I don't wait on people.

I don't stay after I set out the dinner, not after it begins to get dark.

I leave before the dark.

Eleanor Lance: Your husband?

Mrs. Dudley: We live over in town, miles away.

Eleanor Lance: Yes.

Mrs. Dudley: So there won't be anyone around if you need help.

Eleanor Lance: I understand.

Mrs. Dudley: We couldn't hear you. In the night.

Eleanor Lance: Do you have any idea when Dr. Markway...

Mrs. Dudley: [cuts her off] No one could.

No one lives any nearer than town.

No one will come any nearer than that.

Eleanor Lance: I know.

Mrs. Dudley: In the night. In the dark.

[Mrs. Dudley grins and leaves]
It may be a little melodramatic for this day and age - but IMO it is a classic.
