What does everybody do with their old Journals? I'd hate to throw them away and there's nobody close by that would need them.

Leslie

donate them to Chances Mini Horse Rescue for an auction.buyer to pay shipping.Horse people love to get old magazines.I give some of mine to prospective buyers ot you could take some to hospital, doctors' offices or other places that have waiting rooms. If they are very old you can sellthem on the saleboard LB Last Chance Auction.

Why would you want to get rid of them? There is so much good information in them. There are informative articles, and I find myself frequently referring to back issues....even as far back as the early 90s....to see pictures of horses now long dead because they are in one of my horses' pedigrees.

I'm the wrong person to ask - I have Arabian horse magazines from the 1950's to present time - AHW, AHT and many more! They fill many many shelves in our garage!

Donate to a library, maybe... get people outside the breed interested??

I save mine for a while. I eventually will go through them again to see if there is anything in them that would make me want to save them, if not, in the trash they go.

I saved a few of mine, i gave some to a horse crazy girl down the road who helps me out a bit around here.

Put them on the sale board and sell them. It just costs allot to ship them bc they are so heavy.

I always go back and look over pics and articles when i get bored.

AAAAACK!!! I couldn't even THINK about throwing mine out!! :new_shocked: Even writing in them seems almost sacriligious to me!! I've kept every single one of mine from my ten years of membership, and have bought many, many older ones.

If you are selling your Journals or Miniature HOrse Magazines, what is the usual going price for them?

$3-$8 each. Shipping is normally high though bc they weight allot. I buy allot of old ones (still looking for a few issues that i've been trying to find FOREVER!) and normally they fun $5/each + $5 for shipping.

Hey guys, don't mean to get off the subject too much BUT, The Miniature Horse

Association is doing an article on my children for an upcoming edition of the

Miniature Horse World Magazine.

I "think" it is going to be in the upcoming issue.

I would LOVE to get extra copies, if anybody wants to sell, give, whatever please

let me know. I am so proud of them. :bgrin

Thanks so much...

where's the best place to advertise and sell old magazines? I have about 15 collective years worth of various magazines such as Hunter & Sport horse, Practical horseman, horse & Rider,m Horse Illustrated, The horse source, Dressage Today, Horse play. some are only about a years worth but the h&sh, PH, H&R and a couple otheres are YEARS worth.. probably over 50 copies of each. i HATE to part with them..but we are thinking about moving and my parents have their farm on the market (my place doesn't have enough room for them all) so if it sells i have no home for my magazines! lol I was thinking about selling them but have no idea where to start.. i'm surprised they sell as high as $5.00 per copy! lol i was thinking like $1.00 per copy plus shipping.

I've got old copies of H&R and Horse Illustrated that I need to find a new home for. I've been meaning to call a lady down the street that has horses to see if she wants them but I haven't gotten to it yet. I don't know who around my area would want or need The Journal though.

Hey! If any one of you has a December 2003 journal I would LOVE to buy it from you. It's for a friend for Christmas and I don't want her to know I'm looking for one

: Thanks!! Please email me at [email protected].

A while back when we had a pile of old magazines like Horse & Rider, Horse Illustrated etc. (I keep my mini magazines!), we donated them to the local 4-H horse club. The younger kids love to have their "own" magazines and some of the older members found aritcles in back issues useful.

What about donating your old issues to a local Miniature Horse Club or 4H Horse club? Even if the 4H club isn't specifically Miniatures, it might encourage some of their kids to get into Minis.

If they are in good shape, they could be used for booths to promote the clubs or given out to new Miniature Horse enthusiasts.
