OH NO!!!!!!!!!

I am so sorry.

Come 'ere......... hug me ((((( ))))))

Awww you poor thing!!! I know I know I HATE that feeling, it's the feeling of "if only i would have been home even 10 minutes earlier, I could have done something!!" That happened to me a couple times with my prize show pigeons...I swear it happened to the best of them. My worst was when I hatched a single baby buttom quail, the little cutie pipped from his shell, opened an eyeball at me and peeped hello to his new mommy! We spent 2 glorious days together, I taught him how to eat and he (the size of the top part of your thumb) ran around in the palm of my hand peeping away...taking naps...then one day I leave for work, to get a phone call just 2 hours later...that he died =( I cried forever and even took off work to come home!

So I know how you feel, oh that poor little white lamb...what a shame to lose such a beautiful little one!!

Thank you....I feel like such a baby I cannot quit crying....she was only 12 days old....I've lost lambs before ...I know this happens so why the heck does this one hurt so much...and the worst is secretly I had named her so feel like I cursed her......one of my rules is no names right away..........

I think the real important thing here, is that you loved her...and she was loved =) That's a lot more than what most lambs born in this world will ever receive!

Ohhh I'm so sorry...what happened to her? Is this normal for them to just up and die like that?

No it isn't normal at this stage BUT since they seem to think they are mtn. goats and like to jump up and ride on moms.....my best guess is she fell landed wrong and broke her neck.......

And yes I do raise these critters for meat and all other normal sheep uses but that doesn't mean they don't deserve to be treated well and as we are flock building all our girls are "keepers"......most of my sheep are black so she really stood out not to mention she was the friendliest little thing and loved attention.......she is one of the quads born on my birthday and we had already lost one at 24 hrs old ....since the rest of them had been growing and thriving this was such a shock........I cannot believe I am reduced to a puddle of mush over this.......

Awwww Rori I'm sorry about your little girl. Some are just special to us with no reason other than just because.

Oh I'm so sorry. Amazing how some little creatures just creep into our hearts.

I am so sorry for the loss of yourlittle one. they just kind of creep into our hearts and claim a part of it. It is so hard when we lose them.

I am sorry,

Hugs

Bonnie

I have found that those reduced to tears and mush in this type situation, are good animal mommies.

I am so sorry for your loss, none of them are easy.

Awww!! I knew I shouldn't have opened this thread!!! I'm sorry about your lamb!!! You do all you can do to make them safe, but there will always be unexpected accidents.

I'm just glad this is my last kidding season. I am a complete worry-wort during this time and after they are born. I don't want to do it anymore because it causes too much stress on me (like I don't have enough anyhow).
