For those of you who are quitting.

I quit cold turkey for 2 days short of 10 months last summer. I quit coughing (which is saying a lot as I had a terrible smokers cough), on the same day I quit. But I did gain weight. Been back on them for 5 months now (at the same 2+ packs a day). I lost the weight, but at what price?

Best advice....once you go off them, don't under any circumstance take a drag off another one. After a while I could smoke just one (maybe when a smoker was visiting)and it not bother me a bit, so I thought "shoot, I've got this thing beat". WRONG WRONG WRONG

I'd join your quitting group but there's no way I could quit during the winter. Being stuck inside isn't a time that I think I could be successful. Spring or summer (when I can stay busy outside) seems to be a better choice for me.

There's a really good support program on the internet called Never Take Another Puff. Might be worth your time to check it out. Hang in there. You can do it!
