Todays music.... IS AWFUL!!!!

Ugh, what has happened to our societies music world??? What shocked me was the song Boom Boom Pow, By the Black Eyed Peas. HOW CAN IT BREAK RECORDS?!? It is an awful song!!! Although it is sort of fun to dance to, it has no point. Absolutely no point... And Fergie sounds like she is falling asleep, or she is drunk or something when she is singing. I dunno. I hate rap. Never interested me. It has too many swear word half of the time, and often has no true meaning or point.

The only music that I think is ok today is country or country rock. Yes, I am a fan of country.

But, my favorite metal band is Three Days Grace. I just melt with their music!!!

That is why there is so many different choices out there something for everyone. I personally can not stand country i swear it makes my ears feel like they are going to bleed- If my kid wants to listen to it she has to do so with head phones so I do not have to hear it.

My oldest listens to hip hop and that I do not mind at all

Well, I am more for country rock, for I cannot stand the "hillbilly" or folk music.

Besides, I am more of a post-grunge or alternative metal type of person.

I still listen to the Dead Kennedys, Sex Pistols, and The Clash (okay, they were / Joe Strummer was truly awesome) -- so I am a long, long time fan of what a lot of people would consider awful music. Not sure I'd care too much for the song you are talking about, though

The only thing I really know about the Black Eyed Peas is someone in it calls himself Will.I.Am, which inspired me to nickname my shih-tzu "puppies" (almost 1yr old), Wilson and Watson, Wil.U.R and Wat.U.Is

You are right, some of them are pretty disturbing. Gone are the days that rap uses clever innuendos to sing about drugs or sex. Now they just come right out and say it. However I can't say too much. I love death punk music. Not exactly the greatest lyrics but I love it just the same. I think every genre of music has their good points and bad. It all depends on the singer and what the radio stations play. Unfortunately radio stations stick to playing what they want to be popular and most of America kind of goes a long with it.

I agree with many of you guys, as a youth of today, I just can't stand some of the stuff my friends listen to. So much of it is pointless(ok, it is ok sometime, as long as they got a good beat!) or are just plain depressing

Good thing there are many different types for the many different types of eople out there!!

But for me.........

Im gonna stick to techno, trance, dance, rave, and hardstyle!! Give me an electro beat and Im there!!!

I like country and my favorite singer is Lady GaGa (pop). I like here out there look, and her songs are awesome (not always appropriate) yet very infectious. My mare Polly even seems to like it because when I put the earbuds up to her ears she turns her ears to it, its pretty funny.

I really do not consider the black eyed pea's to be "rap"...I personally prefer country music and some older and todays rock music but have always liked the black eyed pea's as they always have a real good beat. There are several other "pop" artists of today that i like a lot too...
