So I need some help. This is the first yr I will be reg. my foals with our farm name but I realized that its going to be to long to put it on the papers with the horses name. First I should ask do I need to reg. the farm name before I can use it on the registration papers? Also I was thinking I could just use SV or SVM but not sure if its already being used. How do I find that out. Also how much does it cost to reg. your farm name?

There is an SVM already, Sunrise Valley Miniatures. There are also three horses with the SV prefix in AMHA but not in AMHR. Not sure of the cost to registered your farm name but I think its $200 or there about.

I think the fee is 200.00. You should call the office to make sure no one has used the prefix. It would also save you time to find out first before using it. If the name of the horse with the prefix is to long, you can not use it. It can only fill the letter amount given.

If you use Skadden Valley (15 counting spaces)I believe you still have

24 letters and spaces left for the foals name.

Not alot but think about weather you want your name spelled out

or maybe some other letters that can represent your farm

possibly just Skadden

You do not have to register your prefix to use it but if someone else wants to use it they can if you don't

so weight out the possibilities of that happening

Dang thats a lot. hmmm.. well i guess I cant do that. Well I guess I wont be using my farm name.

Sometimes they allow me to use Little Church...and sometimes not.

So, I'll put Little Church at the end for a 2nd choice.

You are allowed 35 letters and spaces, so if your prefix is 15 then you have 20 more left. You can also make names and not leave spaces which will give you more letters, there are several ways to use your farm name, just don't use, miniatures, farm, or anything like that, Just Skadden Valley.

Well thats what i was wanting to do but with one of my foals I wanted Skadden Valley's She's an Elegant Miss. Its just a little bit to long. I want to keep the She's an Elegant Miss as its what I have been doing with the foals from that mare. I think what I might do is keep doing what I have been and do Shadow's She's an Elegant Miss as the sire's name is Shadowman. Thats what I reg. our 2007 foal as Shadow's She's a Sophisticated Lady. How does anyone decide how they want their foals reg. I want to keep a theme going with them. My other foal I was thinking of doing it Shadows of a Kokomo.

Plus, AMHA won't let you use punctuation. So it it would have to be Skadden Valley Shes An Elegant Miss. Which fits.
