We just finished shooting the footage and they are out front editing and will go live on the 6 o'clock news. Found that there is a link to watch: News 8 Austin

Tony,

I searched your posts so see what the coverage is about, but I think some people will read this post and not know "what" you're telling us about.

Jill

PS -- hope this quotes your original post:

The station is doing a story on our horses and Carl Mitz's work on miniatures. It will run on cable News 8 at 6:00 tomorrow, Monday, October 29, for anyone that may get the station. They are to film tomorrow at noon and then live at 6.

Tony,

The The San Antonio Area Miniature Horse Club will be there tomorrow and all will be wearing Red shirts. I have a wicked cold so I can't go!

I have gone to the website but they still don't have anything on there about the fight for equine dentist.

I really hope they posti it soon. I would love to see it.

I can't find it either, thought it would be up by now.

I just got home from the rally and there was a good turnout by horse people and news media. I'm sure Tony will be on later and will fill everyone in on what all went on. Thanks to all who came in support for Carl and the horse industry. Even the Associated Press attended the rally!!!!!! That's GOOD!!!!!!!! Tony had the cutest little pinto with him that I was trying to stuff in my pocket to bring home. What a living doll he was.

The Austin 8 URL in Tony's first post has the story.

Tony,

Since Carl's name is being dragged about I believe we are entitled to a list of all vets who support this proposal. Their names should be posted on the internet for all to see and maybe boycott. When their livelyhood is in jeopardy let's see how big theirs are.

Way to go all who were able to attend.

What a great idea, but I, for one, have not been able to find but ONE, and she doesn't do HORSES!!!

I sure hope that this whole thing ends favorably for the equine dentists out there. This is just ridiculous - people like Carl have been specializing in this field for a long time - can the large animal veterinarians say that they have as much hands on practice as someone who does just dentistry? How stupid!!!!!

thanks for the information. We will be praying for Carl and the others. I hope and pray that Carl can kept doing his job. We haven't used him yet, but have heard great things about him.

We are praying for you carl.

If you ever have Carl work on your horses, you will not want anyone else working on your horses in the future. He is so good and he's good with the horses and so pleasant to be around.

I sure hope the equine dentists and the owners win in this situation. This is absolutely ludicrous. Here in Ontario (Canada) you must have a vet present ONLY if you have to sedate the animal as the equine dentist can not administer the sedative and to me that makes sense but to have only vets perform dentistry

. As was stated veterinarians do not take dentistry skills, that would be like having a GP (geneal practitioner) do open heart surgery for pete sakes. I think most of us would want the "specialist" who is trained, not the one that has no clue or very little idea what it TOTALLY emcompasses. If your veterinarian board doesn't understand that owners are smart enough to know a good equine dentist from one that isn't..... vet's aren't so why use them in such a specialized area. It's absolutely hogwash on the part of the veterinarian board and the vets that signed the petition. I believe the only thing they are after is the a monopoly and the $$, not the wellbeing of the animal. Good luck Tony and to all horse owners in Texas.

Exactly. I believe it is a very small and very vocal minority - as is usually the case. I have yet to talk to a horse vet in favor of this.
