Up here in New Hampshire you can now pay a fee, walk into a pen where they keep red tailed deer walk up to one and shoot it!!!!!

This is fun! This is fair! This makes you a great hunter!!!

Yes a bill got passed that to help out the red tailed deer farmers with expenses you literally just go into a pen pick out the one you want and bam here ya go!

I am not anti hunting don't take me wrong,I don't and wouldn't hunt but realistically it is a fact of life and as long as eople eat the meat and the animal gets a fair shake I don't mind.

But this just strikes me as wrong somehow!!

But it is not for me to judge I guess. And maybe its no different than the slaughterhouses so ....I guess i am going to have to think on this a little bit more.

Well that is a real sport isn't it!

Makes me sick....

What a piece of work that is! What next..lazy guys probably passed that legislation! Stupid and laxy!

No, "Canned Hunts" are not fair.

If someone is going to hunt for sport (or even for the meat), then I think bow-hunting is sporting; it takes skill and you have to be relatively close to get the job done.

Oh I know they have that option here too (I think?) or maybe I just read it somewhere but I heard how they're passing that, where you can just walk into a pen FULL of deer, pick one out and shoot it! OH MY GOD! That poor deer was born and raised in captivity, seen humans every day of it's life, just to wake up one morning to be SHOT??? There was another one I heard of where you get to pick your deer, they tag it and release it into a huuuuuuge fenced off wooded area so it seems more like a hunt, but realisticly the deer is still fenced in.

This makes me sick! If the numbers need to go down, just humanely kill half the herd and sell the meat! That is torture for the rest of the herd to watch their members being shot right in front of them!!!!

I can't understand why this would be fun.

Most avid hunters woudl tell you the 'sport' is the hunt not really the kill. How you would feel any 'sport' out of that is beyond me.

Always fascinates me what people do for pleasure??

I am definately not anti hunting but this is pathetic.

Gee, it sure takes a big game hunter to do that..dont it  It just dont seem right to me at all. We have a neighbor who raises elk, he fenced in 80 acres and built a big lodge, books elk hunts...and if filled the majority of the time. Takes a real skilled hunter for that too.., these elk are also raised, and then released, not terrible afraid of people at all. Its so sad! I am not against hunting either, but where is the sport of it when done like this?

My opinion and that of many of my relatives that do hunt is this is not sporting.......these farms tend to cater to the trophy hunters who merely want a nasty "head" on their wall. This is just one more form of weenie extension if you ask me

Being an animal communicator, what do the animals think of this slaughter that takes place? I want to know what their thoughts are on this matter and you are the one that can tell us and then we may have a better idea of what to do. Thanks for your help, Mary

There are "canned hunts" then there are canned hunts. In many areas of Texas and several other states much of the hunting is done on fenced in areas. The big difference is the areas size. Several places I have been to have large tracts of land. Sizes were from 25,000 acres to 80,000 acres of high fenced "yards". Thats alot of square miles to hunt in. While I do not agree with putting the stands within range of a feeder many of these ranches (including a 2,000,000 acre part of the King ranch in Texas) have turned this into a big business. Fencing in 50 or a 100 acres is not sporting or reasonable. There are more natural ways to hunt that provide a better feeling of satisfaction even though they do always produce results.

I had an animal communicator talk to our lead ewe sheep about this very subject - she said that as long as we moved the sheep to be butchered to another pen, the rest of the flock could "support them" in their crossing - but they did NOT like it when we walked into the main pen and killed one of them. (happened once with a sick ewe - but I hadn't told the communicator that!)

Anyway, she was surprised to learn that the death part didn't upset them so much... we've seen that here but it was nice to have it confirmed.

I don't get it either. So why not kill them humanely and then sell the meat and "heads" so those lazy people can get their trophies that way?? I can't help but think that anyone who wanted to hunt like that isn't a real hunter and probably not a very good shot either. I'm not a vegetarian and I'm not against hunting for meat but I hate to see animals suffer.

 ! I couldn't agree more. But just how big does one weenie have to get in order to feel important?

: And penning animals up just to shoot them? Well a 4 year old could accomplish a task like that. It's disgusting. One thing to have to provide food for yourself to keep from starving, the other is just to provide a feeling of "bigger parts"! Ridiculous.

Ah that is nothing at all.. How about this?? Log in on a web site...PAY a fee look at a field wait for a deer Press your Mouse And a GUN will shoot the deer that you have spotted~!!.. It will be Processed and send to you~!!!! Al from your computer chair and you did not even have to get up out of your computer chair.. These fields have cameras and guns that are triggered by the CLICK of your computer mouse~!! How is that for hunting????

I thought we are suppose to be advancing as we go along???? If the sport/hunter people want to prove skill, well gosh make a video game to challenge them. A facility can humanely kill the deer that the person picks out so they will have the meat and trophey still, but instead of the awful hunt they can creep through a virtual reality game as if it were real and then pick up their meat and be done. I suppose somehow we (man) would screw this up too, but again aren't we suppose to be advancing in not just our cultures but our individual minds???? Maybe to much daydreaming, I better wake up huh?

Unfortunatly as many all ready know, this is ( sadly ) nothing new...

I'm not the one to ask here- I go to seafood restaurants, buy a lobster and set it free!! I could no more choose and kill something in cold blood than I could fly.

Now Hunting is a different matter all together, as anyone who has truly hunted will tell you.

But yo are not dealing with Hunters you are dealing with morons.

I suppose we should be relieved that they are not loose in the woods mistaking little boys in reflective jackets for deer and causing people to go out and write COW on their cows to identify them!!!!
