I spoke with the doctor yesterday afternoon (Mon.) they took an x-ray of her leg and it doesn't appear that the infection is in the bone. :aktion033: He that I made the right decision to go head and have Meagan treated. He said that he may have been a bit zealous in suggesting as one of the options to have her put down. She does have a couple of abcesses that they drained and flushed. He said that it looked like she would be able to come home for a week on Wednesday. I would, of course, have to treat her with antibiotics. I was elated at the news! It is going to cost me a bundle, but knowing that she will be alright is worth every penny to me. Your thoughts and prayers for my little Meagan really worked! Thanks so much!
NEW UPDATE THIS MORNING: As I was driving to work this morning the Doctor called me and said that they had a "mishap" occur during the night! Meagan's leg started to bleed and she lost a considerable amount of blood and was weak! :new_shocked: They gave her a tranfusion and she is under oxygen! Poor little baby!!!! The doctor believes that the abcesses may have weakened the walls of the blood vessels in her leg. It didn't start bleeding until hours after they had flushed her leg. So now, they will watch her closely for the next 24 hrs.

I REALLY BELIEVE THAT THEY HELPED HER EARLIER.
P.S. The other news the Dr. reported, which is almost humorous, was that Meagan's mother escaped from her stall and busted thru the ICU doors and broke them! (She left Meagan in the stall). I guess once she got out and went down the hall she paniced realizing that her foal was not with her. So, not sure where she thought she was going. Of course, he said that I wouldn't be responsible for that! I bet there will be some serious butt chewing going on this morning! :nono: :nono: :nono: :new_2gunsfiring_v1: :new_argue:
