Update on Tonka

Tonka is going back to the vet this afternoon. He is shaking like crazy, throwing up, sleeping all the time and not doing well at all.

I will let you know what the vet says.

We found out last week that Tonka has Lymphomia cancer and it is pretty bad. Loren had to give up his lab mix Pete when we moved out here from New Hampshire. He is still so upset about that. Now he know Tonka is going to die. He askes me about it every day.

I took some pictures yesterday for Loren to remember Tonka when Loren is an old man.

I am so very sorry, my son had a dog when he was young that was the dog of dogs. When she passed it was so very sad. My heart goes out to you and Loren.

It is so hard to explain to our children.

can't see his body but OMG Tonka's face shows me just what my Zacchaeus will look like when he gets older!! we will keep you and your family, and especially Loren and Tonka, in our prayers and hope the best... this is Zacchaeus and his girlfriend Hannah, when she gets older they will be having at least one litter... if Loren needs a pup that looks like Tonka someday (and we hope it's a LONG time from now, hang in there Tonka!!) maybe we can help.

Well, the vet decided he was having a hard time with one of his meds so I am not going to give it any more. She also gave him sub Q fluids and something for his vomiting. He is feeling better, but still not eating.

Wouldnt it be nice if he could rally and have a "fun" time with Loren for a while.

Oh I am so sorry. It is terrible on adults but so very much harder on little ones. I am sorry. I hope he does better soon.

They are so cute!

Tonka actually sired 2 litters of puppies in his youth. They were adorible. We got him fixed at 5 years old. Tonka was 12 pounds until he was neutered. Now he is 20!! :new_shocked:

thanks for the other pics of Tonka, "Loren's mom" (sorry i don't know your name...) - you sure can tell he and Loren love each other. what breed or mix is he? he's a lot different whole body than ours, but boy the face!! especially that second picture in your initial post, on the bed... Zacchaeus gets that same expression! "Keyus" as my daughter calls him is half JRT and the other half is Pom and Chi. Hannah is full rat terrier. Keyus had one sister, his parents had several litters and always only 2... but his sister just had pups with a Chi and there were FIVE! they all look a lot like their mom. but i thought our boy was much cuter than his sister LOL. can't wait to see what HIS babies look like... grow, Hannah, grow!!! (she is only 8 months so we have a while to go yet...) Keyus LOVES to play ball too. he even plays soccer with a ball as big as he is!

Tonka is a registered TFT (toy Fox terrier) but if he were a mini he would be a "B"!! :bgrin
