anything from Boehringer Ingelheim? I've been pricing out spring shots and what I've found so far their brand of EWTet/Flu is about 1$ cheaper per dose. I've tried to convince myself that all shots are the same but with pregnant mares I just don't want to take the chance if anyone's had bad reactions to a specific brand. Feel free to PM me too!

Yes, I've used Boehringer Ingelheim Rhino/Flu vaccine before. The only abscess I've ever had here was from a vaccination with that product. The vet who treated the horse, said he's used that for years and never had a problem. It made me a little gunshy and I'm now leary of using it.

I used it once a few years back when nothing else was available for the flu/rhino combinations. I had a few sore necks but nothing really bad.

One thing to keep in mind with that brand is that instead of doing an initial injection and then one booster shot, this brand requires 2 booster shots so you aren't really saving any money.

Hmm..the instructions for the EWTet/Flu say the primary shot needs to be followed up by a booster in 4-6 weeks and then annually..nothing about a second booster? I DID, however, notice that the dosage is 2 ml instead of the 1 ml of a couple of the other brands.

I used the boehringer flu/rhino last year and he had a bad reaction to it - fever and all - so I WON'T use that brand again....
