Me, I love this day, and I try to make it special for my loved ones, though I will admit we didn't do any decorating this year, it just sort of felt wrong when I thought of my nephew's girlfriend and all, so I had little inspiration for it, but I definitely am "in the mood" for this holiday.

:D

How about you...dinner...plans for spoiling your sweetie?

Hmph. No plans here that I know of...

Well I have a $25.00 gift certificate that’s good for a restaurant down by the docks, I guess we will go out for dinner on VD ummm maybe Valentines Day isn’t one you should abbreviate ,somehow VD just don’t sound very romantic, especially when I’m talking about going down to the docks.

Yes I boycott it every year, with the exception of calling and wishing my nephew a happy birthday as that is also his birthday. Feel bad for the kid to have it that day.

Boy, I sure hope so.......actually our 7 year anniversary is tomorrow, so we usually do have dinner out both nights..... and I am surprising Ken with some home-made choc covered cherries..... I took some marashino cherries & drained them and you can now buy this great dipping chocolate (you can microwave it)...and I dipped the cherries & then chilled them and I have to say, after sampling a couple I think they taste better than the ones out of the boxes. I also bought a couple of those new cards at Hallmark that have music to them......so much fun!! :bgrin

Ohhh boycotting...*LOL* Been there, done that, too. My best friend and I had an anti Valentine's Day the winter after we broke up w/our boyfriends about a month apart the Fall prior.

We went out to a local chocolate factory and tasted a few of those...and crashed a party, then went and parked at the airport and watched the planes take off and "shined" the people parked there who were makin' out. I know, not very nice, but we were bitter. *LOL*

Valerie, you can make a pretty easy chocolate dip out of quality chocolate chips and a bit of heavy cream, too... Cheaper than the micro version. ;)

Lots of uses for that melted, warm chocolate.

I’m sitting here cracking up about the melted chocolate remark …thinking about that chocolate that turns hard when poured on ice cream I guess it only works when poured on something cold

Hey Valerie, our 7 year anniversary is today!! We celebrated that today and we will likely celebrate Valentine's Day at home since all the restaurants and such are so busy that day. Maybe order some chinese food or something. Hubby always gives great gifts too and wonderful romantic cards!!

Valentine's Day is my birthday. I'm hoping they'll bake me a cake.

: If they remember.......

Jo~ that was too funny! LMAO!!!

: Maybe use a cold pack first? tee hee

Happy Anniversary Pam! Make sure you smooch Mr. Bink! Did you get him that hammock?

Wahahaha!!!

Oh, umm We have no plans.

We don't boycott it....we just don't "celebrate" it. Hubby feels Valentine's day was created by Hallmark to sell cards, the flower growers to sell flowers. He doesn't like to waste money on flowers because they just dry up and wither away.

Doesn't really bother me. I don't like chocolate, don't wear jewelry......save the money and let's go back to AFRICA!

Well I'm not sure what I will get from Hubby this year, last year I got a toilet seat (and no it wasn't a joke) :new_shocked: . I was thinking of buying myself some clothes and giving that to him on Valentines day!

: For the kids I give them a few goodies.

PS That's got to go down as the world's worst Valentine's gift don't ya think!

hmmmm....we don't boycott ...but I don't always remember....he usually does something sweet.....but more than likely I will come home go out to take care of lambs and sheep and come in "smelling like roses" NOT :new_shocked: :bgrin :bgrin :bgrin like right now keep smelling "the barn"...good grief it is me

I'm with MA.....we wait for after all the rush too. Then probably next weekend we'll venture out to some nice grill and have a nice steak & chicken dinner. Besides we already have plans with Lakota on Tuesday, Valentine's Day...that's her rally night! And just so you don't think we leave her little Boxer sister out....she's starting obedience classes on Thursday.....yes...this winter has definitely gone to the dogs!!! :risa_suelos:

I'm making Lee his favorite cake, lemon supreme bundt cake with lots of lemon juice/confectioners sugar drizzled all over it. Can't decorate it so I will make some heart shapes out of confectioners sugar on top........ I already found my chocolates & they are half gone. Need to get on that treadmill again!
