That is horrible - Mis-communication within the company leads to horrible things - people get led to believe that all is fabulous (and I am sure all the kudos and compliments were absolutely true) but someone else, somewhere made the "cuts".

I am so very sorry this happened to you and in such an UNKIND and INSENSITIVE way - not to mention misleading.

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Many many hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

I am just wishing I could do more than just send electronic hugs.

You might think about going back there and ask for a reference letter. Yes you were temporary so the job ended not that had any reflection on your work. I would think that they owe you that much and since you are just going back into the work force that would help tremendously with that reference letter.

I know it hurtd when you are layed off. You feel like you are unworthy and HR people sometimes don't know what's going on with the big guys (not all so please don't bash) and it seems as everyone was basically happy with you so know that you did a good job and took the high road and reference letters do go a long way with other companies.

Hold you head up high, you are a wonderful person, your husband and children love you and because this company didn't really handle the situation correctly, you still are a great person. And Christmas is really about families and the love we have for each other and sounds like you are blessed with all that. Hang in there chickie things do get better

{{{Hugs}}} What the h*ll is wrong with those buttheads treating you like that??!!!

Why go through all that telling you about a promotion and dumping you instead? There's no excuse for that and I hope that karma bites them in the butt! Grrrr!!!

Take some time for yourself, enjoy your family and know that everything happens for a reason. I bet something even better comes along!
I agree! What goes around comes around...

I am very sorry they did this to you! I'd be screaming....:new_let_it_all_out:

Good that you have a moment to spend time with your family...

Was laid off from a medical billing job I loved in 2004... it stunk and I collected unemployment for a month (humiliating but you have to eat and horses have to eat) but landed the best job, the best boss and the best coworkers I have ever had in my life as a school secretary in december 2004... my boss calls me her assistant as she hates the word "secretary."

Keep your head up and look at all options... and I had some horrible interviews at three other schools before having a kick-butt interview at the final school. One interview was so bad I ran to my favorite local bakery for a big coffee and chocolate decadence cake... took lots of insulin to cover that one!

You are in my thoughts...

I agree with Marty - don't burn any bridges. I was let go on my birthday 3 years ago. It was a blessing in disguise. The job wasn't my calling. I took a month off, got my house in order and one day saw a job opening at a financial planning office. I have always loved the stock market; I day-traded for 2 years while my son was a toddler. Things happen for a reason. Like Marty said I would almost bewildered go to the boss to say good-bye and make sure you didn't do anything wrong (I know you didn't but be almost apologetic). Perhaps he doesn't know or the HR person let you go because they have a friend they want to get hired. I have seen that happen. I wish you an extra Merry Christmas to spend with the ones you love.

(((((HUGS)))))

What goes around comes around!!

Asking for a letter of recomendation is a good idea and will let the boss know what happened (if he didn't already know).

Enjoy your time with the children and have a Merry Christmas!
