Violence against animals needs to be a FELONY

I'm so tired of each state having different laws in regard to violent abuse of animals. Some states only have the crime as a misdemeanor while others list it as a Felony 3, which is only one step away. The harshest penalty is usually a few months in jail and a fine. Whoopee. Why are lawmakers so hesitant to take this kind of behavior seriously???

There is someone right now in Va. slashing and stabbing horses, goats, and calves. These people are sick and turn into serial killers, there should be more of a sentence imposed.

I whole heartedly agree, it should be a felony. We also would need District Attorneys and judges to impose the law too. So many times the ball is dropped at the district attorneys office. Its disgusting.

I do feel that people who hurt and maime animals do so to humans also at some point in their lives

I can't count how many times something like this has upset me! I also don't know how many times I wished animal abuse WAS a felony! It seriously needs to be.

I'm totally disgusted. There are laws and no one will enforce them and if they are enforced, its a slap on the hands. Makes me insane.
