A relative called early this week that he was touring on his Gold Wing and would like to stop by. Our English grandfathers were brothers. His grandfather settled in the Toronto area and mine came to Oklahoma.

He arrived on Wednesday, cruising up on his bike. We've had a delightful visit. He is from Nova Scotia. So interesting to hear about life there. We had not seen each other since 1971 when we were both self-centered teens.

Exchanged a lot of family information and I was able to share many pictures of early relatives with him.

We took him to our local museums, and a Wildlife Refuge where the buffalo roam, but they are puny beasts compared to moose.

He left this morning, heading west. Looking for more Route 66 and the Golden Gate.

How nice for you, I wish I knew more about my relatives both here in Canada (my dad was born/grew up on Prince Edward Island) and in the US (my mother was born in Washington state and her family moved to Canada when she was only 6 months old) Someday I'd like nothing better than to travel east and see the rest of Canada. There is a huge diversity of culture and lifestyle across this country and the eastern provinces are very different from the west. Not unlike the US/Canada tho I bet we have more in common than we do different.

How neat!!! That was quite a drive to come. I'm glad he came to visit. Wish I was going to CA with him though. I sure miss my home!
