Last night, H and I watched a really good scary movie, but it's not like the typical horror movie. Most of it is set in a court room with flash backs.

It's based on a true story and really scared me. Having seen this movie, I don't wanna ever wake up at 3am again!

The Exorcism of Emily Rose

Attorney Erin Bruner (Laura Linney) always manages to keep her emotions in check when she's in the middle of a case, but she finds herself unraveling when she decides to represent a priest (Tom Wilkinson) who's conducted an exorcism gone horribly awry. The highly charged case, in which Erin battles an overconfident state lawyer (Aaron Douglas) who thinks he has a slam dunk, leaves her questioning her life choices, career prospects and beliefs.

There is another scary one out That unlike 99.9% This actually happened~! And 3 Movies were made because of it~! The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Silents Of The Lambs. AND the most famous one of all time Psycho This movie is the True to Life story of the MAN that inspired Those Movies~! And It Is True~!

The name of the DVD is simply called ED GEIN~!! The true story of the person that lived in a small town in Wisc.~! And He did things sooo gruesome that Those Movies were taken from what Ed Gein did in true life~!

Thanks for that heads up!!! I hadn't heard of that movie before but just added it to my NetFlix que and moved it up to the top!!!

And I have no idea why Not only was there ED Gein,, But Dahmer was also from WISC. ouch

The movie shows lots of "things" in his house. and the way they picture the house is True to life also.. I have a book about Ed Gein which has some of the police photos AND His kitchen Really looked like that~! In the Beginning of the Movie They Have the some of the actual TV footage and Interviews from His neighbors and a Real clip of Ed getting into a police car..

This movie about Ed Gein was made in 2001 so it is a rather new movie Although Ed Gein did this in 1957....

I was just reading the synopsis on the movie, freaky fact. The man (Steve Railsback) that plays Ed Gein is also the man that played Charles Manson in Helter Skelter. He must play bad very good.

We'll be renting that one soon.

If you all like scary movies, High Tension (www.hightensionmovie.com) is also a good one. It's got a great twist and the horror scenes are so real...

Yep we saw Emily Rose out in theaters when it came out...also just rented High Tension a couple of weeks ago. That Ed Gein sounds like something I'll have to check out.

On another note, we saw King Kong last week.....two thumbs up on that one

...really good special effects and the story line was good. I'm waiting for Brokeback Mountain to hit the theaters as well as The New World.

Sterling - We saw King Kong last week, too. Were you laughing through most of the scenes in the first third of the film, or was it just us? I thought the computer animation was excellent, but some of the plot was just plain silly.

Nikki, I think what got to me most and was a little redundant was when the dinosaurs were fighting and kept fighting, and fighting.......and fighting........and then STILL fighting....!!!

ROTFL Oh right, right! We were laughing pretty hard when those people were so skillfully running between the legs of those massive, stampeding dinosaurs in the canyon, PUNCHING OUT Raptors as they ran! The giant insect scene was pretty gross and random, too. How about the scene where T-rex was dangling from vines... and still trying to eat the starlett?? I also got a good laugh out of giant Kong sliding on the ice pond...

Thats right!!! I just remembered that running scene with the camera man clinging onto his camera, and not getting trampled...only the "extras were the ones that somehow got squashed or kicked off the side of the mountain!

The starlett was so quick and agile running thru the jungle.....

I thought the ice skating scene was cute. But you know, I don't scare easily, but in some scenes Kong was downright scarey looking!

I have to admit I got teary eyed at the end tho. Sounds to me like we have the same kind of taste when it comes to movies.

LOL Oh yes, wasn't she just so agile running through the tangled jungle? Like a little Gazelle! Amazing! I'd still like to know how in the heck they all navigated it so well, anyway...

Oh well, it was a good movie overall, I just wanted to be sure I wasn't the only one sitting back and laughing a bit, too. We do seem to have a similar taste in films. We watch a lot of them here (about one a night...), so if I see any more really good ones I'll be sure to post a recommendation.

Okay! NetFlix just emailed that they are sending Ed Gein today, and I just put High Tension at the top of the que!
