Watson goes in to be "tutored" (neutered) tomorrow. I've been procrastinating as I tend to do anytime something makes me worry. While we've had many animals fixed and it all goes fine, I just worry extra about my babies.

Watson's full brother, Wilson, was adopted about 2mos after Watson from a friend who is a member here as well as a vet. She already tutored Wilson for us before we picked him up. Watson, though, has a retained testicle and I'd been all worked up about him having to stay overnight at the vets. He is SUCH a momma's boy and a little chicken over everything as well. He's never been away from me other than when I go to work.

The vet just called this morning, though, to confirm the appointment and advise they moved Watson up to the first surgery of the day in "appreciation" for how I get about him (they know me so well through Winston). AND, they said Watson WILL be able to come home tomorrow night. PHEW!!!!

Here's my little boy who's going to be tutored, Watson (a/k/a Wat.U.Is, Power Wat, Baby Wat, Wat Tot, and Wonder Wat):

PS so happy he will come home tomorrow night but I will be thinking of him all day long!

Jill, he is adorable you just want to hug a dog that looks like that and smother it with kisses. I am sure all will go well Merry Christmas to you and all of your family.

Hehe...you quote one of my all-time favorite Far Side cartoons! If Watson is like our dog and cat boys, the worst part is not being able to eat pre-surgery...

Watson is waaaaaay too cute! Sorry to repeat a cliché, but that first photo should be captioned, "Does this haircut make my butt look big?"

Thanks, folks

Watching Watson walk from behind, he kind of reminds me of a cowboy in chaps!

I will be soooooooooo happy to pick him up and bring him home tomorrow!!!! Not as happy dropping him off for "tutoring". I will try not to get choked up but...

Awww....he's such a little cutie! Just think when he comes home you can spoil him rotten just before Christmas!!

Something tells me that this won't be one of Watson's all time favorite Christmas gifts!

Tell me about it! Watson said he never thought Santa would steel his little decoration(s).

Thanks, folks

I know exactly what you are going through, Jill. Daisy is 2 years old and I still haven't had her spayed because I can't stand to leave her there. And I know when I go to pick her up she will literally tear her stitches out because she will be so overjoyed to see me. She has very severe separation anxiety. Even when I go in a store to shop and she is along, she just literally goes berserk when she sees me come back. It is nice to be so loved but she is very excessive with her love. I hope all goes well with your little guy.

Jill, this is too funny, can you believe that Teo had a retained testicle too!! They are brothers, haha. I was the same way with Teo, I had him done in the spring, it was soo hard to leave him there. It all went well though and he was home the same day. I was worried because he is so tiny, but he did really well. The staff all loved him and wanted to take him home.

Good luck Watson & Jill! He is so cute!

Jill your boys are awesome, I groom a ton of them! I've never met one I didn't love!! I know how you feel! The last one I had done was my french bulldog! Talk about a panic attack! It's always scarey!! I'm sure he'll be fine. Let us know when he is home!!!

Awww, he's such a little cutie! Just as huggable as can be! Hoping all goes well with his surgery tomorrow, and he'll be back in your arms by the end of the day!

Thanks, ladies!

I'm guilt tripping some this morning. He keeps going to the water and food bowls, then looking over at me like "come on now!". Then curled up beside me on the sofa. I feel so guilty because he doesn't have any idea what's in store for him today. I'm so happy Dr. Beamer moved him up to the first surgery of the day. At least this way, he won't be getting all worried in a cage in a place he won't remember and be scared of. Urgh. Boy, if he knew, there's a word he'd like to have added in the middle of the vets' "Merry Christmas" card!!!

Best of luck today Watson. Our little Henry was just neutered about a week ago. Although he didn't have a retained testicle he still was not all too happy about donating his "decorations" either.

Hope all goes well today Jill!

Watson's already out of surgery. The retained testicle was pretty deep but he's done now. We can call them in about an hour or so to see how he's doing waking up from the meds. I can't wait to go pick him up this evening! He's my baby bear.

Is he home yet? I hope he is and that he recovers quickly from his surgery.
