Over the weekend, Jerry finished the back barn doors. We still have the front ones to go. We did get the inside insullated too on Sunday.
Today:
The stockings were hung by the stall doors with care,
in hopes that the horses wouldn't chew them up if they dare,
Little Dan on the roof, hanging lights from the top
I kept opening up more boxes of lights and said "Dan just don't stop!"
And then when nightfall came and it got dark
we plugged in the lights as the dogs began to bark
They glittered and shimmered along the barn roof
and with Jerry's good electric wiring I know they won't poof
The horses all looked at the reflections of the lights in the barn
and I told them "It's Christmas" and those colored lights won't do harm
They relaxed after that and began to eat their hay
as I said not to worry, I know Santa will soon be on his way.
I've awaited a new barn for over 30 long years
and although it's not finished the decorations brought me to tears
So hold on to your dreams and never let go
because dreams and wishes can come true, even if they come slow.
