It's going to take awhile to get things "right" by that old tobacco shed is getting "sealed up" and there are six stalls, some temporary, (lord save me from all things temporary) There are run-ins and drylots, a lot of fence run, and more to do, though it will have to wait until spring.
That's when we will begin all of the "construction", we need to remodel this little old farm house and build a barn. I'm eagerly reading all of the input given on any topics started about barns, like/dislikes and what is necessary and comparing it to the last barn we had. And working on hot water in there.
It's going to take some time to get our website updated all the way. Seems I've got horses that aren't up there and though I might have to settle "temporarily" for some winter pictures I'm going to join those of you who are resolving to get them all current.
I waited until after Christmas to update anything at all because moving, settling horses into their new routine and frantic shopping so we would have Christmas has been keeping me busy.
Now I feel like I can breathe, and spend some more leisurely time with the horses again. Grooming just hasn't been at the top of my "todo" list lately.
We hung plastic strips over the doorways to the run-ins to try and control the wind.
What a surprise for the horses. You can sure tell which are the most "adventurous" ones when you do something like that!
Though I was surprised that in a couple of days those "wiggling, swaying plastic monsters" weren't scary anymore!!
I really worrried that it would take longer.
What a great desensitizer for that scary plastic.
And hopefully the plastic helps the winter wind for the winter in the run-ins.
