UMMM....

I'd like to place an order for a primitive dun pinto filly with leg barring and a dorsal stripe. Good bite, nice straight legs, dishy little arab head and big eyes and the natural born ability to be a country pleasure driving national champion. I'd also like it born on my daughters birthday June 3rd as a special birthday surprise for her. Wouldn't that be cute, she and her new pony sharing a birthday?

OH YEAH.......I don't want to spend more than $500.

OH AND.........I'd like shipping to MN included since I am too high falutin to drive to AR to pick her up.

I'll take a colt, same description, but I want it born on halloween, delivered it to Michigan and I only want to pay $300.

Honestly, I think you handled it politely and kindly... the only rudeness was in that persons head. Sheesh.

Oh Jean, you stuck up ol' thing!!!

All I can say to their emails is 'woooooow'.

Takes all kinds!

Good job on your reply l've also been told by a few that people like us will suffer with miniature horse prices down the road by trying to be so smart and pricey. lt's usually people who would like a nice mini but don't have the funds or really know true prices of something better then a pet l think..

whats a "grade".........

this is slightly different , but i took my colt out for a walk the other day while my son rode the horse..... as we were walking along a man stopped his car and asked a few polite questions... and then offered me 500 eoros for my colt moondance,...this bloke obviously thought he was offering big bucks... i politely declined....he then said

......."ok. 550..".. i declined again..

" look.. that little runt of a thing is,nt worth crape anyway... and i know where you live so youd better watch it"was the next thing i heard......as he sped off

needless to say.. our gate is now locked at night.....

but some poeple seem to think its maddness to pay large prices for small horses......they just dont understand it like we do....

there were two little geldings in the paper last week for 350 each... would that be a good price for him?.. dont know what colour they were though...

Yeppers, you have always been one of the most Hi-Fal-Ut-in folks I ever had to deal with too Jean! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yup .. that's our Jean - just an old, stuck up, thinks "you'r" better n anyone, "hi-falutin" SNOB! Boy did they "peg" you!

Does that mean that I'm something special since we're friends???

: An appropriate and eloquent reply.

Take care.

Nan

PS (irishmini - a "grade" is an unregisteded poy or horse, sometimes of mixed ancestry, sometimes a purebred w/out papers.)

Must be that Arkansas air that has gone to your head 'cause you sure weren't "hi falutin'" back in Wisconsin! Just wondering if 'cause I have a couple of your fillies here will that make me "hi falutin" too?

People just continue to astound and amaze me! Certainly makes life interesting though!

Oh, it gets even weirder!

The person called me and proceeded to rip me a new one (apparently they had not been warned that when I am attacked....I give way better than I get

: ) ....had been in minis, got out, wants to get back in but doesn't want to be one that shows them and "flaunts" them. Just wants to breed for pets. Carried on about how "every breeder is a liar" because they know that every single breeder has had at least one dwarf but of course they all deny it, yada yada yada. Mad at how the prices are so low (Hello??!!?? you were mad at me for the price I want for my colts?!?) When I asked why they would want to get back into minis when they were so angry, didn't have a response.

And then we had a good conversation about the genetics of dwarfism (this person didn't understand the difference between dominant and recessive genes!!!!!!!) So maybe some good will come of all this and there will POSSIBLY be one slightly better informed person after all is said and done.

Yup - it must be that Arkansas influence. I must have had brain freeze living up north?!? And Nan - sure hope I can get out to your gorgeous part of the country again some day. (PS-Those grape pies are awesome.)

Ahhh Jean ... 'Tis the season too! The Naples "Grape Festival" was last weekend - the ladies in that town make thousands of grape pies just for that one weekend (I forgot how many, but it was astronomical - they had it in the paper! Big news week!#! ) I'd send ya one if I could figure out how to get it to you fresh!!
