Hubby and I went to the Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls, Ontario last night to see Gordon Lightfoot in concert. It was an awesome show!! :aktion033: We ate at the casino too...although all the restaurants are pricey. We went to Johnny Rockets an old fashioned diner type of place. Two burgers, one with onion rings one with fries, a coke and a coffee $40.00!!!!

I have a ton of his songs on my iPod! We were lucky enough to see him many, many years ago, and really enjoyed his concert. He is Timeless in his appeal, isn't he? :bgrin

Enough with your menu!! :bgrin How did he look? How did he sound? What did he sing? Does he still make you feel like he's singing only to you? Did the place erupt with applause if he sang The Canadian Railroad Trilogy? And could you still hear a pin drop at that one part near the end? OMG! I wish I would have known he was performing so close by.... It used to be an annual event to go see him at Massey Hall in Toronto.....

He looks well again actually, he doesn't sound like he did in his younger days but he is still wonderful!! He did a bunch of stuff that isn't mainstream which I loved and then finished it off with a lot of the "recognizables". He did not do the Railroad Trilogy

Stratford?!?! I clearly need to crawl out from under my rock and check out his website for future concert dates! I'm really missing out!

Great 'report', Pam! Hope you get to go again tonight, ya lucky duck!

Was the concert place nice? Was the sound good?
Avalon ballroom is very nice, intimate...there really is not a bad seat in the house. It is set up very much like a cruise ship theater. Sound was great!! :aktion033:

OH God, did he sing "If you could read my mind?"

I LOVE that song.

That song came out when I was 14, remember it vividly......great song to fall in love with someone for the very first time. Yup, I surely did. Young love, wasn't it grand?

I have adored Gordon Light foot for many years. Saw him a couple years ago before he nearly died from that abdominal aortic aneurysm. He still sounds the same as he always did. Fabulous!
