My sister's birthday is next week and I hit the local western wear clothing shops to buy her a shirt. Nothing special, just something with a horse on it. Can you believe it? There was not a single garment with a horse on it, except one man's Cinch tee. Asked the shop owners what was going on and they both said there were no horse clothes at Market!! They both went duh!! like they had never noticed.

Everything is either ornate crosses or higgledy-piggledy scrolly designs with sparklies.

I ended up ordering a tee on Etsy.

What is going on with western wear??

You got me, but I have a Cabela's button down shirt with a horse embroidered on it.

Cabellas.com. Their horsehead is near he bottom of the page. The shirts I have are the soft canvas trail shirts; and I have 3-4 of them in different colors, only one embroidered (actually got it on eBay). A second one, I took and had a horse embroidered on it ( a cute b/w pinto pony).

Backinthesaddle.com has some horse clothes, some cute horse pjs on clearance too, but only in a sm and med.

Yup, bling - bling and more bling! Check out Rods and Sheplers - you may find something there.

I get Rod's catalog and back in the saddle, but have not saved them lately. I didn't know I wouldn't be able to go into a store and buy something. The backinthe saddle site had several good tee choices.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Good nice looking western wear is hard to find now a days. Most of the women's clothing is beyond tacky.

I like Cattle Kate. She might have something nice.

Here is another place... they might have something too. Langstons

I like Sheplers, Rods, and cattle kate is good too. Okay, I love all western stores! ;)

This is the etsy shop where I got her tee. It came in just a few days and seems like nice quality. Several horse designs to choose from. I got her the one with running horses.

Esty

I like to use Etsy, as I feel it supports entrepreneurs and crafters/artists.

Another one that has both online and catalogs w/ lots of t-shirt designs is Valley Vet. Their sizes fit and there was very little shrinkage... in both the t-shirts and Sweat shirts.

I find it hard to find "horsey - wear" as I am a larger size. The women's 2x is generally too small in the arms (especially Ariat!) and the men's in 1x is too large but the next size down doesn't fit in the tummy either. Very hard for me to find stuff I like/want that I can fit into...

Just a friendly reminder that links to other sales sites are not allowed on LBI!

Thanks, Carol

Okay, no disrespect, but are we not even permitted to make mention of other places or is it just links?

Carolyn, your post was fine. A link is different than saying xxxx.com. But as I type we are working on this "Link Rule" thing so it makes it less confusing about what we can and what we cannot post.
