I love to travel and thought it would be cool to share and to learn where in the world we've all traveled!

When I was 11 my family went on a cruise to Bermuda, it was a spectacular trip, Bermuda is unbelievably beautiful, you can't imagine it until you see it! They have one of the best aquariums I've ever been to, I got to swim in a cristle clear ocean during a rain storm, walked down a brightly colored victorian styled street, watched ice being carved, swam in a salt water pool, and almost went helmet diving.

The summer before 7th grade I had the awesome oppertunity to travel with People to People to England, Ireland, and Wales! Ihad a blast, I rode the London Eye, saw the play "Fame", walked passed Big Ben, toured through tons of castles and churches, went on a ferry, learn Irish step dancing, biked the whole length of Inish Moore, went on a nature scavenger hunt through a forest in Ireland, stayed with host families, saw Shakspeare's house, viewed the changing of the guards in London, and so much more. It was an amazing trip!

Then this past spring my mom and I traveled to Belarus, a small former Soviet country. We went to visit a girl that we host every summer. We stayed for the first few days in the capital, Minsk with a group and then stayed with Veranika, my "host sister" for the rest of the two weeks. We went to a circus, went to a market, shopped in stores with only 10 shirts and 5 shoes and only available in the size that they were in, beautiful Russian churches and monastaries, went to a dance, walked accross Belarus' only foot bridge, walked in the prettiest fairytale like forests, visited an orphanage, bought things from stores the size of childrens play houses, meet some of the most amazing people in the world, visited a museum, and paid our respects at a WWII memorial. It was one of the best trips I have ever been on, it taught me how much we have that we seriously don't need. The family I satyed with was a family of four, they ad one bedroom, a kitchen, living room that doubled as the parents bedroom, and bathroom. I got home and went, holy cow, I live in a palace!

Sorry that was so long! Can't wait to hear all your stories!

Being of English desent I have been back to the homeland a couple times plus Ireland, Wales and Scotland. Traveled around Europe, spent a year in the South Pacific and New Zealand (married a kiwi). Been to Australia, Hawaii a bunch, Alaska, Yukon, across Canada, down to Mexico.

Some of the most interesting travel I have done is in the good ole U.S. of A. and decided I needed to see my own country before going outside again.

Gosh, I have not travelled many places at all and never out of the USA. It's probably a fact that some of my horses have seen more of the country than I have.

Domestically, I have traveled (for business, I hate to travel) to these states:

New York

Florida

Utah

Iowa

Kansas

Because of my location in VA, I have been "for fun" or horse stuff to Maryland, DC, West VA, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.

I know, it's hard not to envy my jet set lifestyle...

I think Larry with all of his transporting has been to every state except Alaska. We both went to Hawaii for vacation once.

We both have a goal to eventually make it up to Alaska some day.

Larry and I have visited England and Germany/Bavaria together. We've also driven the length of Canada several times, visited parts of Mexico, been to Jamaica and the Western Carribean.....LOVED the Cayman Islands.

Before I got married I traveled to parts of the Soviet Union (when it was still the USSR.), parts of Scandanavia, and France. I almost stayed in Copenhagen -- was offered a job there and it was sure tempting!

I want to some day go back the the Brittish Isles and investigate Scotland and Wales.

Wow....great subject, I just LOVE to travel...just can't seem to get enough time off of work to do it & now with the minis I have to try to find a trustworthy person to house-sit & take care of all the animals when we are off having fun!

Let's see, in the states:

Oregon (born & raised), CA, ID, NV, WY, MT, CO, UT, FL, HI (4 times)

Out of Country:

Spent 6 weeks in New Zealand (probably some of my favorite all time memories,

I spent all 6 weeks with a pen-pal & her family, so became very close friends & we still are friends even after 18 years)

Aruba, Jamaica, Haiti, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Puerto Rico, St Thomas, Virgin Gorda/Tortola British Virgin Islands, Curacao--Dutch West Indies, (all from Caribbean cruises)....also some of my most treasured memories.... you just cannot believe how blue/green that water is down there until you see it in person.....just spectacular!!!

Gosh, I almost forgot Canada......sorry you guys up North.....an oversight on my part,....as I loved all the times I have visited there.....esp love Victoria!!

I have sooooo many places I want to visit..... work sure gets in the way of having fun!!!

Have traveled across the USA extensively from coast to coast and probably been to 98% if the well known National Parks, rode mules into Grand Canyon, rode horseback over the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone 3X, all the landmarks were visited, drove thru Death Valley (missed the 20-mule team!) walked thru Carlsbad caverns, Painted Desert, Petrified Forest, the Alamo, watched buffalo roundup in Dakotas, DC lots & lots of times--the capital, Smithsonian, etc; NY Empire State building, Twin Towers, Statue of Liberty, and had a tour of M&M plant in NJ (compliments of my sister-in-law), Hawaii (3X, kids were stationed there, too

I'm afraid I'm not as well travelled as I would like to be, although I did live in Hong Kong for two months and travelled from there into China, Macau, and laid over in Japan (Nareta airport, to be exact, although I did get to see Mt. Fuji silhouetted by the sunset...pretty cool).

I've been to Canada many times.

As for the USA:

Oregon

Washington

California

Nevada

Idaho

Montana

Wyoming

Utah

Colorado

Oklahoma

Arkansas

Texas

Considering that I have longtime friends living in Denmark and Italy, it's quite ridiculous that I have yet to make it there...

I would love to visit scotland, norway and france if i ever had the money and could get over my awful dreadful fear of flying...."if humans were meant to fly we would have been created with wings"

Well, for some, where I live now is a foreign country! New Mexico! We've had people ask if we need a passport to leave!

We've been to Canada, Mexico (used to live on the border), Zimbabwe, and South Africa (2x). We're planning on going back to South Africa in 2006 if we can.

I've done some world traveling, but not much in my own country!

When I was 13 my granparents took me to China. What an experience! I was in the Tiananmen Square of Beijing the day before the soldiers came in and killed many of the people there. It then got pretty crazy for us for a couple of dangerous days. The people of China blamed Americans for the deaths of so many of their loved ones and they became very violent towards us (Americans). We were shot at numerous times and I was kept far away from window as my blonde hair gave away the fact that I was American! We were smuggled in and out of cities at very early hours of the morning. My poor parents here in the states didn't know if we were alive or dead. Our tour was the last one out of China and our leaving was only because our government got invloved... To say the least it was one of the most terrifying times of my life! We also went to Hong Kong, which at the time was owned by Europe and not concidered China... then we went to Thailand, Kathmandu and Nepal. The monkeys in kathmandu were amazing!!! and the bulls and cows of Nepal
rolleyes.gif
One bull rammed the back of our vehicle numerous times, and then ripped off the bumper! The driver calmly pulled our car across the road and re-parked, then jumped out and went over to pick up the pieces of the car!

As for the states, I once went from Montana to Georgia to bring a friend of mine home from the army. She was in no shape to be driving, so I flew out and drove her home. We made it in 3 days! I drove day and night, so I'm not exactly sure the states we went through
wacko.gif

Last fall my husbands grandfather passed away and we went to Iowa for the funeral. So we drove through more states for that.

I've also driven to California through Arizona, Colorado, blah, blah, blah. We went there to go to Disney Land and Universal Studios, twice! I've been to Washington and Oregon as well! And all the states in between!

Those are my travels and I'm sure more will follow, although I doubt I'll ever go back to China!
biggrin.gif
I will however make it to Ireland, Greece, and Scotland before I die!!

My husband was in the military so we lived in Italy for two years, I have been across the border to Mexico. Would loooove to go to Canada, my brother has been and said it is as pretty as I think it is.

For me it probably won't happen---who knows? In the states I have traveled to just about all the southern states except for Utah, Nevada, California or Kentucky (may have driven thru Kentucky?) I go to Virginia every other year to visit friends from the military there and only stayed in New York at the airport long enough to catch another plane. Have always liked the idea of visiting Ireland.

I want to go to Scotland and Ireland so bad. However, with panic attacks it doesn't look too promising. I wish they would come up with something to fix this thing.

I have been to a few states in the U.S. before and after the attacks started.

AZ (where I live)

CA

OR

WA (my brother lives)

MT

MO

MN

ID

TX

NM

WI (relatives there)

and a few others I can't remember.
