We're staying home and having some SPECIAL friends over for Christmas dinner, Bonnie Fogg and her husband will be here (they arrived today, had a wonderful flight) and the rest will be good, close, horsey friends. Wish I could spend it with my family but we are too spread apart to all be together.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday (whichever you choose) and to those that do......

We are having a very low key Christmas this year. Had my big family Christmas with my dad's side of the family last weekend. What a hoot they are. Tomorrow just my mom and stepdad are coming over. Getting up early to have my coffee and cook the Christmas dinner. We usually open presents, eat and play a board game or watch a movie and then have dessert. Feel a little like this

when the day is done. Anyone else ever eat too much on Christmas?

Well it is just us...although we invited a friend and her family over to eat we shall see

I figure once the boys open their gifts this place is gonna get downright noisy and loud and well....might resemble a rock concert.....

We are going to my parents' this morning early. We were at H's parents' yesterday.

This is the first year my nephew, Jonah, will kinda know what's going on with Christmas, and excited to see him open his presents!

I didn't realize I'd only decide to go into the office one day last week so I've got to run in there on our way to my folks to burn some CD's with photo software we bought for my sister and it turns out you just download it, they don't mail a CD.

Going to work - work from 6am to 3 pm - going home, cleaning stalls and feeding critters, eating potroast and opening a couple presents with hubby and hubby's friend. All our family is in another state and we all have to work today.

For the first time ever we are staying home and not having anyone over. We did our family Christmas on Christmas eve this time so I'm making a small turkey dinner and then we'll spend most of the day rearranging our place outside and doing a bit of yard work. We were going to put our place on the market right away but I want it to look perfect before they take pictures so my weekends from now until we sell will be all about packing and preparing for the move.

We'll go over to my folks house today. It will be just the 4 of us this year. We are having lamb for dinner.

Me & the guys will clean the kitchen while mom rests, then we'll open gifts and, if dad is feeling up to it (he's got the crud that's going around) we'll play Farmopoly, or Dogopoly or something -opoly. Dad always wins, so that should perk him up.

Because it's only the "three of us" (husband's family in Switzerland, mine in Southern California)....we stay in our pajamas all day! Even while feeding the horses!

Oh, sure, we invite everyone to our place, but the thought of dealing with all the animals in the house and horses next to the house makes each family shudder!

Gladly, we cannot "travel" because of our responsibility of our critter family!

Hope everyone enjoys their Christmas!

If he ever gets up, we can feed the horses and then we'll open up gifts some time today! I'm getting antsy!

Then I will cook a big ham shank and taters. Then we clean house because I have a friend coming over tomorrow.

Hopefully we'll get to trim hooves too. And I got extra treats to give the horses.

OH that phone! It's been ringing for crazy all morning for the boys. Geesh they are popular. I lost track of how many calls they've already had. I hope I get a call too from somebody, anybody.

It was going to be just the 4 of us until Thursday.

We are expecting a few young people now to show up. There's a few friend's of the boys that hang out around here with no real family to speak of and actually no place else for them to go and have a nice Christmas dinner. Jerry and I felt pretty badly about that, so instead of the little roast beef I had got for the 4 of us, I sent Jerry to Walmart yestarday for a big old ham instead. Oh heck, why not? Let's just have a houseful and get these kids fed. Got 10 pounds of potatoes, corn, and green beans and dinner rolls and then I baked deserts.

I'm making some stuffed celery, spinach dip, crackers and cheese, and things like that to set out now before dinner time.

Heading out for the extra table up in storage.

It's at times like these when I would love to have had some paper plates.
