Hi everyone. I can't help but notice that some people on here have become somewhat hostile and a bit grumpy. Me being one of them as I got quite a strop on due to one thread.

I am wondering if these wonderful little mares of ours are making us grumpy due to lack of sleep.

Roll on the summer when it will be all over and our bundles of joy will be out in the field playing and we can sleep all through the night. I am a bit too far but I would like to off a stiff drink to all my virtual friends

sorry if I have been grumpy

I've been guilty of that this year. Went off on my daughter's boyfriend because he pretended my mare was foaling when i was doing the dishes and he was watching marestare. Poor boy was knocked flat. I had to apologize and explain you dont mess with me and my foaling mares. NO JOKE.

We are friends again but I think he is a little more wary of me now. I've got teeth.

Thankfully my mare has foaled and I'm all caught up on sleep, but it sure does make one testy. That's for sure.

That would be a good reason for being cranky.

I am cranky because this weather is just plain crazy. Cloudy cold windy, cloudy cold rain windy, cold front pushing in tonight maybe snow. We have not had even a day or two of 50-60 degrees with sunshine. It's like the winter blues will never go away.

Exactly! It feels like our winter weather is everlasting this year. Its snowing right now; big, fluffy flakes. We've been snowed in most of the time since the first of the year. [i've only been able to get to town to see my mom 3 times since Christmas; only been able to get to the town we do most our shopping in 3x times this year, I usually got 2-3x a month, at least.]

the newly dropped 15cm of fresh wet, heavy snow and the fact that my mare is on day 336 and I have been on my mom and dads couch for a month using the barn and camera of theirs as mine crapped out!!!

cant wait for baby, then I think things will turn around, but I cant sleep till it comes, I am worried sick of loosing it!!!

Not grumpy here.

Not foaling season (don't breed anyway) and the weather is glorious (early autumn).

Hey Eagle are there many mini horses in Italy? This has undoubtedly been discussed before but I'm a recent addition to the forum.

I have been thinking the same thing. Seems like the posts of lately are either hum drum or flame away. I would take you up on the drink though. I admit to feeling grumpy, sleepy, dopey, and probably the other four of Snow White's little friends (depending on how my day went.)

I'm sorry, too. I've been pretty negative lately. It may be a few reasons...but our winter (now "Spring") isn't helping...

I must say, I haven't noticed any rudeness or bluntness. I came from a forum that was full of snarky people, so you guys are tame.

But, maybe I haven't noticed anything because I joined in November?

I have noticed some grumpiness but nothing out of hand, I have refrained from commenting at times because I too am getting pretty grumpy we have mares at 342, 337, 336, 333, 325, 325, 322, and 316 days today plus 2 pasture bred mares that I purchased and have been bagging up since the end of January and none of them seem to want to give up their foals! Hopefully tonight because of the lowering pressure but Im not holding my breath LOL! Ok I feel a little better now

Hi Eagle, I will accept that drink and I would prefer a cosmopolitan.

I discovered those over Christmas and boy those are yummy.

Anyways, I'm glad to see you post and I'm sorry if I've came across mean but I have to admit that our weather has me in a funk. Yesterday was 60˚Fahrenheit and then today we had snow.

I am so ready for summer and nice weather.

Matt, I don't think you've been grumpy at all...........

I am a little grumpy, and I'm sorry if that's come across in my posts.

No mares due to foal, but several tire kickers that seem very interested and then they just disappear. I wish they'd just say something rather than keep you hanging...

Here it's the weather. Snow all disappeared, then got another 10", that kind of disappeared and Sunday we had Snow AND rain AND thunder. Today another flurry. What isn't muddy is frozen! And it's not a Margarita!!

I have to say that I haven't really noticed a lot of grumpiness or hostility; the one thread touched a nerve for some people and was taken too personally by some others but that's really the only thread I've seen hostility on. But, I admit that there are quite a few threads that I haven't even looked at so perhaps I missed something. I just haven't had time to spend as much time here as usual.

Well I'm happy!

But I'd be even more happy when it warms up!

Grumpy here I admit it. Tired of the rain and the mud and today snow above 1000 ft. Then more rain and wind and mud. Grrr!

My horses have spent more time standing in their stalls this year and any other year. I don't blame them for being grumpy and wanting sunshine. I want sunshine. I have a foal due in 5 weeks and would like it to come into this world on a warm sunny day but doesn't look real promising this year.

I haven't been grumpy, but I have been somewhat feeling glum and tired. At our property, our mobile home is now referred to as Noah's Ark. We have alot of water and snow and underneath all of that is MUD from last years rain that happened in November. I just sat in the barn on Sunday on top of the babies straw and hay island and cried. Thank goodness, my little Mickey learned a new trick on Saturday called "Mickey HUG" because I sure need the hug from him. I am just praying that we have a decent dry summer with lots of sunshine.

hopefully this weekend will be nice so that I can go for my first ride of the year

Too funny Maple!!! Sounds like you and I are in the same boat! All our mares are due at the same time! Its like musical chairs around here with one looking ready one day and the next day its a different mare.
