What kind/color of a show halter should I get for this boy?

I'll be getting a show halter for my boy Spirit (I've already ordered him a new nylon halter, blanket, and lead rope...all matching

from minitack.com and now my mom is telling me to get him a nice show halter

course I'm not going to argue hahaha

).

So I'd like your opinions on what kind/color/style/etc. should I get for him? What do you think would look best?

I am NO expert, but the first thing I thought, was a wide noseband with teal, and teal beads up the side. I think that would look nice on him, but hopefully you'll find some other imput as well!!

I agree with the Wide Noseband

and I would say Hunter Green ? Since he is a Red Head

I second the recommendation of teal; teal looks wonderful on a chestnut or a bay or a black or a grey, it is very versatile. Hunter green isn't quite as snazzy on a bay or a black or a grey, but would look nice on a chestnut.

Personally, I can not STAND teal or blue nosebands. I think they look hideous even if the horse has blue eyes. Just terrible IMO.

I would go with a nice wide noseband since he has a tiny head. No beads or bling on the sides. And then a nice burgundy bar noseband with silver/chrome accents(rings, chain and piping)

Hahaha Alex! I beg to differ!

I show my bay appaloosa in a nice royal blue wide noseband and he looks gorgeous in it!

I actually bought this halter for my sorrel/white pinto gelding with 1 blue eye. But he lost it since I didn't get to show him last year and the appy took it.

I agree with the wide noseband. Your guy has a longer face. So a cable band wouldn't look as nice since his face can show off a wide noseband better. I would go with gold hardware since it goes well with his coloring, but silver would look just as nice also. I like the idea of teal on him. Maroon or Black is always nice also if you don't want to go with a color that stands out so much. I like the idea of a deep purple too.

He is long from eye to muzzle so I would go with the wide noseband, in black with gold piping and gold hardware to compliment his warm colouring.

I would definately go with a wide noseband because of the length from eye to nostril and i would also go with black noseband and halte with gold piping on the noseband. Since the horse has a nice head i wouldnt put alot of accents on the halter and i would definately make sure the noseband is right under the "cheek" bones (if you will) so that is doesnt make the horses head look longer. Hope that helps.
