Farrier Depot in Ocala, FL. I'll see if I can find the name of the manufacturer as they might be available on-line. The store says they sell a lot of them to women due to the fact that they are easier to use for women than standard nippers. Every one I know who has a pair loves them. They are a little pricey, but worth every penny!

yes more info please on the nippers, i need something like that BAD! right now my daughter trim for us and does a wonderful job, but she graduates this May and if/when she leaves, it will all fall back to me... and i don't have the strength in my hands and arms that i used to!

Farrier's Depot Inc says they have them on-line. They are called Arthur Cottam sprung hoof nippers. Here's the link for the web site. Find "NIPPERS" in the blue side bar and the product I'm talking about is the second one on the list "Cottam Sprung Nippers...$159". If I can't find a picture of them on-line somewhere else today to post on this thread, I'll take a photo of mine and post it on Saturday so you can see what they look like.

Woody Pet bedding :aktion033: We switched everyone over to it about 2 months ago and I'll never go back to shavings or sawdust again. I wasn't too sure about it at first, but once it activated/broke down, I was sold on it.

I also found out that a small(2.5 gallon) shop vac is a "must have" and something I'll never be without again. I got one for Christmas and I have the cleanest horses in town now

: I don't care how much elbow grease you use brushing in the winter...with their long coats, they are still dirty. My little shop vac sucks the dirt right off. All the horses seem to enjoy it and I only have 1 who is convinced that it eats Mini's(then again, EVERYTHING eats Mini's in her mind :new_shocked: )

My new mares and fillies -- Hope, Flirt, Treasure, Klassy, Suprize & Double

As to a "product", I can't imagine not having my Double K clippes that I got this past spring... They clip through those winter coats like they're going through butter and can use them on wet coats, too. They've been a big time-saver.

:aktion033: THANKS, Robin. I've been wanting a pair and now have a source!!!!!

Another nipper that is wonderful with tiny hooves, my vet has some and that's where I first saw them, is a half curved pair. Instead of being straight across like most, the ends are curved like a 1/2 moon.

Haven't come across anything new and great here, of late.

Evermoist hoof conditioner. This stuff really works and is a must have for hoof trimming. It softens hard dry hooves and makes them easier to "pair out". (sp)

Jill I also purchased the Double K's this year. You put those Titanium blades on them and its like a "HOT knife through butter"!

I got a GREAT deal on the blades from Rob at The Clipper Barn.

"911"

It is a tube of paste, an all natural product, that works for colic, loose stool, and on and on.

It has saved a few vet bills.

If your horse has a diarrhea problem and you give the paste, the very next movement is formed.

I would never be without it.

The other night I had a mare colic and gave the paste to her. We walked for about an hour and she had about 5 "poops" getting looser and looser, then she was right back to normal.

It really is a "God send"

Been using this for a little while now. I get 2" wide dog collars and put them on my horses while I harness them. I see most people just slip their halters off and put them around the neck, but since I do a lot of stuff on the side of my trailer, I wanted something that would almost completely prevent them from getting away from me. Also, their stall halters don't fit very snugly and if they pull back, it can come off (had it happen in our barn once.) Now I have one in with almost every harness.

Being still rather new to minis, Where would you get 911? Seems like it would be worth checking out.

My husband found some springs that fit on the nippers you already own. He ordered about 10,

gave several away and sold some so they must be pretty reasonable. He has been using the same one

about a year now but keeps a spare in case he breaks or loses the other. He says it makes it so easy now. He still has the envelope in the barn if anyone is interested we can dig out the info on them .

Also for when the horses start shedding the GroomeeZ is best thing in the world for grooming. Pulls it right out and you just release it with your thumb and keep working. Maryann
