Its nothing new but we have been useing them for years. They help with shedding as the horses rub on them all the time, especially the pregger ones. WE get the old street sweeper brushes and put them in the pastures. In the spring you will see the mares rubbing on them so hard they are on the ground up against them. WE rearly have a horse that needs help shedding. You just have to go out every so often and pull the hair off the brush.

911 is like a probiotic.

got off track posting before about what someone else posted... and forgot to post mine :new_shocked:

at Lowe's (is where we found it) we got a plastic tube with a copper fitting on one end, you put it in your water barrel, jiggle it up and down and ta da, instant water flow... we call it a manual siphon but on the tag they called it a pump - found it near the electric water pumps in the hardware store. it is GREAT for horse camping or shows, instead of trying to tip the full barrels to fill the water buckets, or siphoning with your mouth (CHOKE)

My favorites from thsi year are:

Hairspray!!! Seriously this stuff is a lifesaver! It takes off black hoof polish like nothing else.

911 paste. I am convinced it was the 911 paste that got my Cinnabar eating again after he drank a bucket of soap water. I will never be without at least one tube again.

Ashley, I am interested in the street sweeper/hair remover. Could you post a picture. I am not sure I know wha this is.

: Where did you get them? Donna

I dont have a pic, or at least not one handy. Just got to your town or county places and ask them what they do with there used street sweeper brushes. Alot of times after they replace them you can just buy the old ones from them. Either put it flat on the ground or standing up over a post. The horses love to rub on them and it works just like a brush to pull all the lose hair out.

I will look around and see if I can find a pic with one in it.

For me there were two things that I discovered. MSE probiotic paste is the first. I've used it on several different occasions, for a colic case, and the most recent was when my weanling leopard was showing signs of ulcers. Within 2 days he was feeling better, and back to eating grain! The other for me was aloe vera juice! I never knew this stuff existed! I picked this up after reading about it on the forum when I was looking for info on ulcers in back posts. Between the MSE and the aloe vera juice, my weanling is feeling SO much better! My husband and I also take the aloe juice..........although he whines about it every time he takes it! It helps alot when you have an acidy stomache. The older I get the more certain foods upset my stomache...........like peanut butter and spicey foods.........stress too!

To you girls who mentioned Platform feed, what is it that you like so much?

Joyce L
I've been feeding Platform since September and I couldn't be happier with the results I see, that's most important. I like that my feed room and feed routine are simplfied greatly. I really hated the whole soaking the beet pulp thing, now I don't have to. I don't have to add supplements, everything I need is in there (except daily dewormer and biotin) . I like that it's NOT a sweet feed , my gelding chunked up on sweet feed. I like that it's specially formulated for ponies /minis to help prevent hoof problems.

I like the fact that I can feed it to everyone (weaners, mares, geldings), just have to adjust the amounts.

Now what I am interested to see is when show season comes, if the Platform gives my performance horses the stamina they need.
