We are in for some nasty weather this weekend. They are predicting rain for Saturday and Sunday, snow for Monday,. so today I will be getting the Prancers prepared to stay in out of the rain and enjoy their barn.

I'm putting in new shavings for everyone and stocking up Purina 12 12 minerals in their stall mineral holders. Getting some hay out of the hay shed and transporting it to the barn. It's a sunny day today so I'm going to clean their brushes by soaking them in some nice soapy water. I'm getting some tail bags ready too because there is surely going to be some serious mud after all this.

On Saturday, after morning feeding I'll keep them inside with hay and off I go to shop! I need card stock, and food, and some Christmas gifts, and our TREE!!!!!! Seems like whenever it rains, I shop.

Jerry learned how to make beet pulp, so he's going to be here to feed lunch and keep the horses in hay while he works on another barn door in the isleway so he doesn't get soaked. He'll be singing along with the radio which has nothing but Christmas music on our favorite channel. Caught him last week bellowing out "Up on the Housetop" with Timmy and Chrissy climbing all over him and when he came to the "HO HO HO" part, well, he had Chrissy's ears and was just jiggling them back and forth to the music. I'm sure he'll have Timmy out running and terrorizing up and down in the isleway. He loves to watch Timmy go from stall to stall to play with everyone over the doors. Oh let's face it, we let the kid do whatever he wants......

So if it's the last thing I do, this weekend I hope to have my cards done, gifts wrapped and tree up, and outside lights working???? I hope so!

Now, whatchadointhisweekend?

Have a wonderful weekend and drive carefully too and stay warm.

And Timmy said to tell you "God Bless Us Everyone"

Well.............................the tree is up and so are the decorations so I get to do Horsey stuff.

On Saturday I will finish up my wind break for Dustys stall made out of carpet protector stuff, and finish cleaning the basement.

On Sunday my friend Carrie is bringing over her sewing machine and along with mine we are going to make 3 big horse blankets, and if we have time a BIG wreath for the barn.

I need to get the pot of Chili cooking and the beer on ice.

I LOVE the weekends!

Were suppose to get snow, snow and more snow on top of our snow.

My plan is to take Rodeo and Image on a big walk in the woods, its been a while since just the two of them went for a walk.

And Im waiting for the arivial of my two new girls!!

Well I'm storm stayed today.....man is it ever snowing!!!! Soo I'll probably drool over the pictures I took when I was in the Dominican last week (warm, sunny beaches....

), then....maybe I'll get out the christmas lights and get them ready to put up sometime over the weekend. I think we are getting our tree tomorrow (I think it's already picked out, so no trudging through the bush for hours trying to find the perfect tree, only to end up getting the first one we saw...and then trying to find that one!!! lol).

One of my babies went to their new home yesterday, so I will be sticking close to the computer later today, anxiously awaiting news that he trailered out ok!

Other than that, I have a lot of christmas orders that I have to make!!!! Why can't I turn down these people when it gets to this time of year....I always get tooo busy around christmas then try to jam all this work in!!!!

Well, Marty we have the same weather forecast as you do which could dampen a few plans but the plans are.

Tonight, I'm going to see the Russian Ballet Company presentation of the "Nutcracker". I very excited. I used to perform the "nutcracker" in my younger days and love to watch it now. Tomorrow, my son's friends birthday party and then the awards banquet for the local riding club. My son got Hi-Point Miniature Horse Halter for the second year in a row with 2 different horses (I'm kinda proud of him)!

Then Sunday if the weather holds will the be the Bristol Motor speed way in lights. Its a beautiful display of Christmas lights that your drive thru the complex and then you drive on the track (HEY!!!!) where there are kids rides and Santa Claus in the in field. Then outside the track is ice skating.

Marty please please keep that bad weather east until Sunday! (I'm outside Memphis) We have our Christmas parade tomorrow and tonight we are working on our float. It is projected to rain tomorrow. This is the 29th edition of the parade and they have never called it for weather. We have several minis, roosters, a donkey, a bloodhound, and several big horses in the parade as well as our float. I finished my inside decorating last night which included putting up a 9 foot tree (I'm 4'11") It's beautiful. Finally convinced my hubby to retire the 26 year old tree and let me get a new one. I have my 4 foot "western" tree in my kitchen with all my western and equestrian ornaments on it along with my big cowboy santa! I got my wreath on my barn so all that is left is putting the greenery in my wagon on the front porch and putting greenery around my farm sign and mail box! That is set for Sunday unless I am stormed out.

I'm doing as little in the way of work as I can get away with this weekend! I had an audit of my books and records (admin and client related) this week and I just was so worked up anticipating it (securities related, I'm the OSJ -- boss even of my Dad in the eyes of the NASD). Phew, though, the auditor said if he were grading me, I'd have gotten an A- or B+. You'd be amazed at the little things we can be written up and fined for, even if our assistants get a statement filed in the husband's file when it should have gotten into the wive's...

Just going to enjoy the horses, the new ones and the not so new ones. I keep saying this but maybe this weekend will really bring Spirit, my silver appy mare, home from Priscilla's. I just am so rarely at her place and I am looking forward to actually getting to know this mare I've owned for almost 2 years at this point.

On Sunday, weather permitting, our worker guy's coming over and want him to clean the paddocks and do a couple small projects.

Got a bunch of NetFlix movies, lots of food, etc. Just want a quiet, peaceful weekend at my favorite place in the world -- HOME

HOPEFULLY sending out my SS present! I had it made ot order and it hadn't come in yet
sad.gif
Also have to get my Christmas cards out as we're going to Myrtle Beach with family om the 12th and won't be back till the 21, too late to send then. So some will get them early this year.

Wrapping presents so I can grab and run when we return as we're to be home only three day before e have to run downstate to have Christmas with the kids
biggrin.gif
And I still have one layaway to get out. WOW! I usually have them all bought and wrapped by now. Hate being crippled but long as I keep on keeping on I'll be fine.

Hey you all enjoy the heck out of your weekend eh? Maxine and Carl

SNOWING ALL WEEKEND! We are supose to have about 5 inches by sunday night.

So im going to get some snow pictures tommarow of the boys. Helping dad finish off some new stalls that we are just getting done. Simple stuff like put on doors and make them fancy ...cant paint untill spring though.

SATURDAY: I plan to work with all the mini's and just get them out of the pasture or barn and take them out to the yard and do some 'walking around'. They have not been in the yard for a while, im sure there getting sick of the pasture and stalls. Then im doing some nice long grooming sessions. Also i plan to get my hair colored saturday. Doing a MAJOR stall clean!!! Im cleaning everything, water buckets, feed buckets and putting Lexus's new feeder up. Then ordering sleigh runners and bells because i got paid yesterday.

SUNDAY: Working with Lexus some if it stops snowing. Then introducing some stuff to her (getting her use to sprays, eye drops ext). Working with her feet ..just a big LEXUS day. I am also spending some time with the mini's.

Leeana if you are suppose to get 5 inches of snow. I don't feel sorry for you. We got about a foot of it yesterday. The white outs on the way home from work was no fun at all. I spent an hour getting home. Which usually take me about 1/2.

But the good news. I got home O.K. and the horses were happy to get their dinner on time.
biggrin.gif

I cleaned everyones stalls real good today. With all the snow yesterday I could not get to the poop pile.

We are finally working on the guest room of our house...we have been in this house for a little over a year and it still isn't "homey" so we ripped the carpet out to expose beautiful hard wood floors and painted the walls. Now hubby is sanding the floors. We hope to get the floor complete this weekend(sanding, staining and varnish). We will see then next week finish the walls
biggrin.gif

Suppose to snow here tomorrow Sunday and have been working on sewing some foal blankets for our Shetlands. Most of the foal blankets we have are for smaller foals.Cooking and cleaning and my husband has Sunday off this week so will spend sometime with him.

Well I have the same forecast as you Marty and I'm soaking wet as we speak.

The "twins" (medicine hats) must have rolled all day in the mud. They are so muddy and they love it. I'm finishing up the garland on all the horse fence and maybe putting up my tree. I dewormed all the mares and foals at the big barn and will deworm the boys tomorrow. The stallions are sooooo much fun to watch this time of year running and playing and grooming each other. They don't remember that they hate each other in the spring.
laugh.gif
The twins will move over with them after the first of the year and they will fit right in with my little ones or with Tex LIl Feather but not Rumble. Rumble is just tooooo rough for anyone but Tex Lil Feather who he truly worships.
