Curious what you all use and like best to get your clothes sparling clean and fresh smelling. I'll go first, I like ALL and sometimes Gain laundry detergents. Can you tell I like to do laundry.....

Recently, I have discovered a 1/4 cup of 20 Mule Team Borex soap in addition to a 1/2 rate of regular laundry soap....really works on barn/ work clothes and they smell wonderful/nice and clean.

l use Tide and Cheer l'll get a big box of each and mix them together and works just fine gets the tea towels real white and clean. l don't like Sunlight made my stuff thats suppose to be white a off gray shade. l don't like laundry in the winter summer l'll wash and hang stuff like bedding outside for that real fresh smell.

ALL free, for me too Russ and you are so right about the borateem.

Arm and Hammer, without the bleach. I have sensitive skin and anything with perfumes or strong smells makes me break out. Downy regular for the fabric softener.

Arm and Hammer here too. We have allergies to certain detergents also and this one is easiest on the skin. We can only use Downy fabric softener, I used a cheap off brand one time and ended up at the doctors

I like Tide a lot, the regular kind, but when I can, I will use bleach in my clothes b/c I love the smell of it. Not super strong, but faintly.

I absolutely cannot stand the smell of mildew in any way, so if there is the slightest amount of that smell in anything (my teenager is sometimes slow to bring down his hamper and it gets, well....steeeeenky!), I use a little bleach.

I'm a ALL Free person.......Need as little scent as possible for my allergies. Have not found a fabric softner yet I can use on clothes that get close to my face. I can taste smells on my tongue........YUCK

I love doing laundry, too. I always have said we're either the dirtiest people in town or the cleanest as I'm always doing laundry for the two of us........can't stand any soiled laundry to accumulate, as soon as there is enough for a load, I'm there!

I adore Tide... but we use the "cheap" stuff we can find, which is Arm & Hammer- it works really well, too. I cut back on how much detergent I use in a load due to a nasty side effect of a detergent used at recommended measurements. Still gets the clothes just as clean, but no risk of doing that again. And I'll NEVER use "Sun" detergent again in my LIFE O.O

Any fabric softner will do- though I prefer liquid softener to the dryer sheets. I only use Clorox for bleach, and when I get smelly stuff.... FABREEZE. I can't recall, but I think it's a fabric softner- it took the smell right out of our towels for ages.

Spray & Wash is my stain remover of choice... the gel kind, rather then the spray bottle.

I just beat mine on rocks

OK I have different detergents for different loads of clothes.

The men's work clothes get Tide or Arm and Hammer

Mine get Gain

The towels and bedding get Cheer with Fabreeze

I've been using Tide, and I get itchy... I wonder..... I did just switch to Purex, so let's see...

I always thought it was just because of the hay stuck in my bra.....

Well, I was bored and ya know what that does to a guy on a Friday night.....that's right laundry.

I hang laundry on the line too....but my reason is I'm a cheap skate

but then I run it through the dry for a good fluff and de-lenting.

Keep the laundry secret soaps a coming......I learned something from this thread. Arm and Hammer is good for sensitive skin.......2. Marty beats her clothes on a rock

......3. we all have alot more in common than we know

Well, I mainly used Tide BUT when Ron works on the truck and gets that grease all over his clothing I find Dawn dish washing liquid works best. It even works on the asphalt better then Tide or any other detergent I have tried.

And for a fabric softener it has to be Downy!

I used to use Gain but when finances got a bit tight I switched to ERA. When I tried to go back they had changed the scent on Gain and it was too strong for me.

Here's a tip: Don't use any more than 1/2 what they tell you to use. It cleans just as well and doesn't leave a lot of soap in your clothes.

I was told some time ago by a washing machine repair man, that they tell you to use too much because it will break down the machine.

Die-hard Tide fan. Won't get anything else. We have hard water and it's the only thing that really works. If hubby buys something different, I make him take it back.
