This mare was due March 28th. Last year she waxed up then streamed milk the day/night that she foaled. Any guesses when she will foal and what she will have? I have 2 more to go after her. One is bagging up now and the other wont be due until June.

Here are this morings pics.....

Great pics of what waxing looks like for those who haven't seen it!! My mares usually wait till dark but your mare is ready to go whenever she feels like it!! I'm going to guess 10pm!!

She is the only mare that does.

I was supposed to go and get more shaveings today as this mare is a pig in her stall and goes through them fast. HOwever, I had to send somebody else.

I have her out with the rest of the mares right now as she hates being stalled(shes a crankey 19 year old who never really has been stalled much and prefers her group), but I can see her at all times looking out our patio door.

THis mare is always a huge. SHe is 37.5" tall and I am not sure there is much more then a foot between her belly and the ground.

I also want to ask what color she is she resembles Bonnys coloring so much.

CONGRATULATIONS I did not think she would wait much longer.

Pictures Please

Cookie aka mom is a varnish appy. Filly is jet black like last years so I am guessing she will be a varnish app as well, just like last years.

Filly is a big girl so had to help her "get down" to nurse. Of coarse mom wasnt very helpfull, trying to bit her and nudge her into place but everytime she did this it just made babies head pop up.

I finish encloseing the stall, got the heat lamp going and found a kids sweat shirt for her to ware. She is now enjoying the snack bar.

I learned I need to find a new vet after placeing a call in. I needed to know if I should tie of the cord before cutting it as mom cleaned before her or the filly got up. They told me to leave it as it would break on its own. Even I am not dumb enough to think that its just going to magically break. The filly seemed to loved me cutting it. She started whinning after the fact and got up right away. The whole barn is in a uproar with noise out there as they all seem to know there is a new little one.

And of coarse I had to run to town as it seems every time I need something I can never find it, like my iodine.
