When to clip for a show

Just wondering how soon before a show should I clip my horse he is dark bay with no markings. Thank you!

I have a bay and a black I'm showing and I clip a week before the show with a 30

I am having lady that body clips come out the wed before the show (show is sat) should I have her use a 30 or will she know what size to use?????

That close to the show a 30 may not be a good idea. That is only 3 days.

So should a 10 be fine then?

I clip this dark bay horse on the Tuesday before the show with a 15 blade.

He always looks shiney again by the weekend but not fuzzy.

That sounds about right for my boy too.

I also use a 15 on solid colored horses. This gives them a bit of time to get the color nice and rich but not have the hair too long. Now if I have a horse with a bit of a belly I might do a closer clip just on the underneath of the belly to make it look better
