If you have one, would you mind sharing where you got it? How do you like it? Does it seem to be accurate?

I live in a small town and havent been able to locate one in any of our local stores. I'm starting a diet (more like a lifestyle change hopefully) and it requires me to have one.

I hvae bought a few "postal" type scales off of ebay. The weight up to 50 pounds, and as small as just grams. I use them for many things, from weighing parcels/packages to get postal rates (and when compared to the actual post office weights they have proven to be VERY accurate), weighing food portions, weighing small dogs, and my husband uses them for weighing leeches. They weigh in both pounds/ounces or kilograms/grams. There is a "tare" which subtracts the weight of a container so your weight is only the item you are weighing, and it also has a "hold" button which I have found useful when weighing large parcels that cover the readout area. You can press HOLD and then remove the parcel and the weight remains for you to see. It runs on battery or electric. A really good little multi-purpose scale that weighs accurately. My only complaint is that the platform is so small for weighing large boxes.

wal mart has food scales

I checked my local Walmart and they didn't have any. I may try Amazon.com and see if they have any small ones. It will only be for weighing food, so maybe a few pounds tops?

Go to walmart online. They have a ton of stuff that are not in stores. They can ship it to you or to your Walmart. I really like the scale I got there. I love the digital read out!

Weight Watcher's has very nice ones that you can buy at a local Weight Watcher Center.

I buy a food scale about 3 month ago from Ebay. There are many companies that offering a range of best food scales and other scales that you need for your home and business. Why not you try one of them i always buy from ebay and amazon because you http://www.scaleforless.com/get cheap products with best quality there.

love my weight watchers scale. It is terrific. You can also type in food types and then put on the scale and it will calculate the points on what you are weighing. Walmart carries the weight watcher bathroom scale that does BMI and bone density too, not sure if they carry the food scale. I have had my ww food scale for several years now and am very pleased with it. It has a glass top easy to wipe off.

just checked amazon and the scale is pricy there... there are lots more food scales on amazon that got higher star ratings than the ww scale so you might browse amazon to see what they have. some are less than $15.

The restaurant store online, cabelas.com, Walmart online, you can have Walmart send it to the store free of charge I believe.

You can also try KMart,I bought one that hangs to weigh hay but they also had some to weigh food. Some grocery stores may also.

I bought mine at K Mart last year. It is an OXO Touchables. It is still in the box. I found that a little food log jotter that I found at the book store was so useful when I changed my eating habits that I never even took the scales out of the box. But I know OXO is a good brand in kitchen gadgets. This one has a slide out digital reader and looks really cool. If you go to Ebay and keyword the search OXO food scale you can see various ones.

I wish for you a good game plan and determination for a successful outcome in your lifestyle change.

Writing down what I was consuming was a real eye opener for me. It was like the flashing speed signs that tell you when you are "exceeding the limit."

Thanks guys for all of the responses. This post is from over a year ago, and I did manage to buy a scale from Amazon. I've used the scale off and on over the past year, and I am currently back to using it daily (along with a food journal). I've lost almost twenty pounds since my birthday in September, so I'm hoping I can continue to see some positive results. It sure isn't easy, but with mine and my husband's health at stake, it needs to be done.
