Who do you dream about??

I dream of the ultimate driving horse. With a heart of gold and the brains that will keep us out of trouble. The strength of a bull and the willingness to take us whereever we choose to go. I dream of sitting in the cart watching the mane and tail flowing while we are just trotting on. It truly has nothing to do with bloodlines it has to do with the individual horse.

There isn't a horse in the world I would trade for him.

I was actually having a wonderful dream of him this morning, very peaceful and happy, driving him with my friends over at Patty's. It just doesn't get any better than riding behind that beautiful boy. It makes me feel like a queen.

I have another that I love and dream about and that is Flirty. But the feeling I get from her is different. She is no floaty dream horse. She is my adrenaline-rush drag racer. LOL

I love this picture. It makes me feel warm and peaceful. Wish it was bigger.

I will have to join the ones that are dreaming about their foals to come.... I am pretty happy with my little herd. Ok, ok, I also want a black, bay or sorrel Mini mare with a blanket and spots or a near leopard with a long snaky neck, angled shoulder and big hip, topped off with a stunning head.

I am also lucky enough to own my dream horse- Grays Smoke Signal. I've always told people, if he was a man, I'd marry him. He has been the ultimate gentleman and deluxe driving horse over the years.... he has NEVER let me down or disappointed me in any way. The grand old man is 20 this year.

I personally have a Mini with all Mini breeding that moves like a park horse. But agian people tell me " THATS NOT A MINI SHE HAS SHETLAND/HACNEY IN HER" All I can say is "Would you like to look at her papers?"

Well, who says minis can't look or move like that?!?
They are just Shetlands, bred smaller. So why can't minis look like THAT shetland, bred smaller?

What if I want a horse/pony that is smaller, eats less, has a cart that actually fit in the dressing room of my trailer (my B mini cart did, but my current 72" shaft cart does not)?

What if I want a little guy like THAT?

to what is winning in the show ring today, how come you can't get to a mini like the video I posted?

Someday it will, and that's what I dream about.

There weren't any big moving minis, so I went to Shetlands. But some day I want to get something smaller. That moves just as big.

No one says that minis CAN'T be true park horses.

This thread was "What do you dream about?" and that's what I dream about. Why crush dreams, saying that minis should only trot like little toys? Dream big! Not everyone wants to limit the future.

but a Modern pony clearly does not fit the standard even though it is subjective as far as standards go. After being to more then one judging clinic that is something that is brought up year after year- there is more to the "standard" as vague as it is then simply meeting a 38 inch height requirement.

And it seems to me although I did order glasses today so hard for me to read all the words without them getting blurry (been like that for a while finally admitted I need glasses) anyway..seems there is very little difference in the rule book between Moderns and Modern pleasures in the halter division short of manners which can be very subjective...

I wanted a black horse with a white mane and tail. Got her. Sugar.

I wanted a horse with a bald face and blue eyes to drive. Got her. Ghost.

I wanted a BLM Mustang big horse......... Got her two months ago! Xena.

Now I just wish I could find a sorrel/flaxen or silver bay with a bald face and blue eyes to match Ghost, cuz that would be a flashy driving pair.

*sigh* only other thing I could wish for is endless hours in a day to play with them all!!!

Very interesting topic.

There are so many wonderful horses out there that it's very easy to dream for sure. Personally, I'm dreaming of Spirit foals and hoping to get some in the show ring next year. Seems like I've been waiting FOREVER but he only got here late in 2008 so I should just be patient.

His only baby he bred after arriving in 2008 doesn't belong to me so I'm currently waiting on my first crop. Waiting and waiting.

Maybe I can talk some of the owner of his babies into joining me in that get of sire class at world one year. A girl can dream.

I'm also anxiously awaiting the result of my Patton breeding. She's due May 18th!

The mare is is very close to 34" and is Gold Melody Boy breeding (not according to her papers but according to Lowell Boone, her breeder). She's one of my prettier mares I think. Here's her pic:

And thank you very much for those who mentioned Spirit. I'm humbled and I'm sure if Laura Tennill is reading this she is pleased (as his breeder) also.

Her stallion, Ten Ls Echos Captive Spirit, has produced a lot of extremely nice babies over the years for Laura and her clients.

My Dream- dream would be that one night I could go to bed and every horse had their hoofs trimmed, every horse was wormed, I had just finished with all shots, all the bridle paths were clipped and all the young stock was halter broke. And that there was not a single horse in a stall and they all were on pasture and there was no flies or mosquitoes. Also the house was clean and lots of meals frozen in the freezer for Hart.
