My wonderful hubby got up this morning, as usual, and started preparing for his Saturday night meal with his dutch oven (best thing I've ever bought for him, I highly recommend one)....and it got me to thinking...I haven't cooked in over a month! He does all the cooking....he'll get up and make breakfast, make us a nice dinner....it's great. (I did make some mac'n cheese a while ago tho..

This got me wondering...do you do the cooking? Or does your significant other? Or do you share?

We share the cooking in this house. Since I am a stay at home mom I usually do the cooking on Tim's work days. But he is the one that tought me how to cook so we like to cook together. Of course in this house we do everything but bathroom stuff together LOL!

It used to be that my husband did 90% of the cooking, not because I am a bad cook, just that I didn't know a lot about it, and he really enjoyed it.

BUT, now I do 90% of the cooking, and I can make some really good things. My favorite dishes are ethnic ones, and I love a challenge.

My kitchen is the only downer! It is so small and archaic that it is tough to work in, and for sure too small for more than one cook at a time.

I love to cook and my husband likes to cook as well. Trouble is - he is a meat and potatoe man and I love more involved meals - lasagna, dairyland casserole, kiesh ( spelling? ) ect. ect. I think you get the picture - he prefer's his cooking and I prefer mine!

I can whip up a meal for him in no time - but I will make MY own meal thank you very much!

Over the past 18 years I've been teaching hubby to cook. Some times he will cook for himself. He even cooked for me a few times! COOL!

I'm a pretty good cook.

I'm from CA and I do some great Mexican food. I do lasagna, spaghetti, fried chicken, chili, chicken and dumplings, the best burgers ever, bake. You name it and I make it!

Karrel (hubby) is great, he helps me in the kitchen and even does dishes!

I used to do all the cooking when all the boys were home. Now we are down to one and he's a picky eater, so we pretty much do our own thing. Kathy

l do all the cooking always have and looks like thats the way it's going to be till death do us part.

You mean there is an option? Who else but me, except when hubby is gone, I take turns cooking with my son's, who want to learn.

Keith is more likely to cook than I am...I love doing the fun stuff, but not the basic (I'm a princess cook

). We're so busy that by the time we can eat it's late and we're exhausted, so we typically eat out of the refrigerator or pop something into the microwave.

Keith does great stir-fry and grilling and makes great breakfasts (that we usually have at dinner-time)

I'm not a good wife in the traditional, home-maker sense. I don't do housecleaning either, unless company is coming. I think Keith's mom feels sorry for him, but he knew what he was getting and preferred an animal-crazy musician/artist/writer.

Hubby does!!

He does the day to day cooking and I do it if we are having company. I like to do the big turkey dinner and use all the good dishes and such.

Mark says I make such a big mess when I cook for company that he would prefer that I didn't use the kitchen everyday anyway. We have a gigantic kitchen with loads of counter space so I can get a whole lot of things on the go at once.

I also like to make crock pot recipes or homemade soups.

You gals that have hubbies that cook are so lucky!

I have always done all the cooking but at least now that he is retired he will do the dishes now and then. I would love to have some one do the cooking for me but if that happens we have to go out to eat.

I (Mark) tend to do 95% of the cooking. It just worked out that way when Sharon and I got together. This afternoon I made (from scratch) a no sugar apple pie to go along with southern fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and corn. And I am told I am a darn good cook. The part Sharon likes best though is - I clean up after I am done!!

I'm moving in with Mark.

Matt and Jose do most of the cooking for our house. (They are the guys at the McDonald's down the road.)

As far as 'cooking' I do it all. however hubby is THE microchef LOL Since I never know when he will be home ( on call 24/7) I keep plenty of frozen stuff on hand. But I do try and make a meal 3 or 4 days a week. Usually I end up eatting alone though LOL Wish he was home more as I do LOVE to cook. So we have family get to togethers a few times a year here so I can cook/bake away

If I were in better health and dependable, I would love to do the home Chef thing.

Being I am single and living alone, if I want to eat guess who does the cooking? Yuppers ME. I have a nice roast in the slow cooker over night..So at 12 Noon today when the Green Bay packers are on TV playing the Minn. Vikings..I can sit in front of the TV and PIG OUT~!!!

Me, too. Then again, I wouldn't eat his food; hamburgers, hot dogs and pizza get old really fast when you eat them day after day. I really don't mind cooking. I prefer to do the dishes, at least then I can find them; we've been together in this house for over 3 years and he still doesn't know where anything goes in the kitchen. If he puts stuff away, I spend hours trying to find my cooking supplies.

Anymore, when he says he'll cook, it means we're going out.

I do 99% of the actual cooking that goes on. In the past year, I can remember one time hubby cooked. It was when my assistant/reporter was over using our computer, I was helping him figure something out and hubby finished the meal I'd started.

Otherwise, his idea of "cooking" is bringing home pizza or calling me to bring home some other kind of takeout.
