Why hamsters don't make good pets

Okay, this is all my fault but it feels good to blame it on my hamster. I put him on the floor in his cage in my closet because he has been making a lot of noise. Well, I checked on him a little while ago to find my show jacket's sleeve chewed and ripped and he was nesting in the fabric he took off. I love this jacket. I have only worn it twice since I got it in July. It is a teal color with gold stars on gold strings attached to the blue parts, and soft black velvet on the front and collar. The damage isn't that horrible. I sewed it inside the sleeve so there is a bit less of the sleeve covering my arm but isn't that noticeable.

It always has to happen to the good clothes, not the ugly dresses your mom gets you, huh?

Oh Jess i feel for you. Mine did the same many years ago- the most beautiful pink padded jacket- I loved that jacket. So did my Hamster!!

I had a few of those fur-babies once as well as mice, a gerbil and a sugar glider. I guess I was lucky they never ate anything they weren't supposed to...

This isn't the only time this happened. I had mice that did the same thing to one of my mom's dresses.

. Thankfully this wasn't a dress she wore.

I learned that when I had the cage to close to the wall, and they ate the wallpaper off the wall.

I had a couple of gerbils many moons ago, when I first left home and when out on my own... I fell asleep one night while watching TV with them lose on the couch with me. When I awoke, it was to find that they had eaten part of the cushions on the couch!!

They too used thier innocent little faces to get them out of trouble...many times.

Sorry to hear about your jacket, any way to recover it? Maybe make it a vest?

Dont worry... my bratty rats, there is now a hole in my chair. Mom wont be happy to see that. OH well at least they chewed through the cord on ones of those stupid candles in my window. Mwahahaha, no more bright lights.

For those of you that dont know, my mom threatened to kick me out of my room if I wouldnt put up with these fake candles that glow in my window ALL FREAKING NIGHT. Now we are down to 2 candles.

awww he's so cute. and so it your jaket! sorry that he did that to it. lucky the damage was not that bad. i wish i had a hampster, mom thinks they look like rats lol
