It's going to take a while and be a mess but we are going to sign the contract and put a down payment on our new 42 X 72 Cleary building tonight! I am more than excited. Since we've moved that old tobacco shed has been all the shelter here and though it's a wind break and has a roof anyone that knows anything about tobacco sheds knows that they are built to let the wind go "through" them to dry tobacco.

This place is such a "needy" place and there is so much to do to make it work but this is a real extravance.

Noel built the last barn we had but this new job he has is so very demanding that I talked him into having it built, trust me has PLENTY to do as we start on the house.

And he will work on the inside of the barn himself, and until the stalls get put in, I will look forward to using it as an "indoor" exercise area for the horses. When the spring weather is mud and the wind is blowing and wet, I'll have a better chance to keep a conditioning program going. We really missed showing (only got to one) last year with all our transitions and are looking forward to at least getting out there to a few shows this year.

The building won't be started until the materials arrive, approx 4wks I'm told but it sure makes me happy to know that it's going to happen.

Anne, I am so happy for you! The new barn (arena) will sure come in handy with shows just around the corner. I would be so excited to be able to sign a new contract and have a new barn...ok, I dont want a new barn..I want a arena :bgrin Corinne

Corrine, I can't tell you how "blown over" I am that this is actually going to happen.

When we moved here I was tyring to figure out how we were going to get through the winter with the existing building. I was pretty bummed. I was a bit spoiled because we had a nice little barn at our other home.

This is just going to feel so HUGE, with all the other work (expenses) we have here I didn't know what we would be able to afford, but this estimate came in right about where we were hoping we had a few other estimates for more, and I have seen Cleary buildings that I really liked, soooo

we are going for it.

Noel will start the stalls on one end and I will just keep using the space inside for whatever, whenever I need it for the horses.

At least the decision is made and the materials will be ordered, just wait until the pieces actually get here, I'll be really excted!

We were orignally going to move to Jerry's parent's farm in Paris Kentucky 20 years ago and take over the old homestead there. It had 3 huge tobacco barns and I mean huge. I would have given my eye teeth for one of those suckers. It was a lot more fun than the horse barn. Not a big deal to just go over the insides of them with plywood or planks and I was just so excited but then Jerry changed his mind........rats.

Anyhow, you are going to love that old barn and boy it's going to come in real handy just you wait and see. It might look cruddy but it's a diamond in the ruff. TGood luck with your new venture. How exciting this time is for you! YIP YIP YIP
