Open the AMHA Studbook to Hardship AMHR Horses

I agree with you completely, Magic, and really want to see them keep AMHA open to hardshipping. I think there is always a possibility of it passing either next year or in the future, possibly with changes in the way it is written. I also hope someone someday comes up with a good cost...

    AMHA Meeting

I'm really really missing getting to watch the AMHA meeting online like I did the last few years. So I'd really appreciate any news of any changes in rules or new rules or anything else interesting that happens at it from those of you who were fortunate to get to attend. Thanks so much! Susan O.

Open the AMHA Studbook to Hardship AMHR Horses

So do we mail our signature to AMHA? And will they have a written copy of your petition, Brenda, for us to mention that is what the signature goes with? Thanks, Susan O.

Open the AMHA Studbook to Hardship AMHR Horses

I emailed both my directors and asked for their support of the petition, or of the basic premise of it, if the petition itself does not count. Thanks for trying to do this, Brenda. I hope everyone will contact their directors also like Jody suggested. If you go to the AMHA website and scroll...

Jody, I sure wish you were still on the board! By the way, do Faxed signatures not count either.........just in case there was still time for that? Susan O.

Information or photos of this stallion

Years ago in the early 90's, when I showed a little in some Utah miniature horse shows there was a little mare named ARC Vera that was owned by a friend of mine named Darrel Dalton. She was adorable with such a beautiful head. The studbook says she is 30.5" and she really was small so I'd say...

    Do you show your miniatures?

I'm glad you replied, Chanda Looks like most people who do not show are not replying I did years ago but really did not feel comfortable showing and have next to no good weather time of year for my horses to be clipped here in the "Arctic" So I'm another No and age 62. Susan O.

    Letter to the editor

Lil Hoofbeats, I'd pm you if I had a clue, but I am also very confused. Susan O.

    Dwarfs (Registries and our responsibilities)

Minimor, I am sure that is correct also. I think some confusion comes about because sometimes people refer to "using dwarfs for breeding" when they are in fact just talking about breeding normal minis who are carriers of a recessive dwarf gene. But John has explained this with the Punette...

    Dwarfs (Registries and our responsibilities)

Lil hoofbeats, The best place to read a lot of the info is on the Dwarf forum part of Lil Beginnings. Here is the link. http://www.miniaturehorsetalk.com/index.php?showforum=15 John Eberth who has done a HUGE amount of research on this and is still working on getting his tests for the 5...

Advice on how to handle a situation

Excellent post, Mona. I of course agree it is totally an owner's right to choose to sell or not to sell to anyone and to try to find a very kind way to state that. But I have been following this thread and also wondering if these breeders specifically say they breed dwarfs and are fine with...

    is she a dwarf?

My guess is No. She definitely does not look like one to me in the side shot. She is beautiful:) If in doubt though I'd email John Eberth and get his opinion. He is the Expert on dwarfism in minis. Susan O.
