    Dehorning goats

Not a fan of disbudding or dehorning. jmo. I like horns and believe they serve a purpose; from what I understand they help with heat regulation. But I own meat goats and some shows require dairy goats like yours to be dehorned to be shown, some just require horns to be blunted. I have horned...

A "What Do You Do With Them?" topic

Hi! I've always liked goats at the petting zoos when I was growing up in San Diego, but not until I moved to Nebraska did I have a chance to own one. We bought an acreage and got a pygmy to eat weeds. Well, you can't have just one goat. Got another, had babies, got more goats. And yes pygmies...

    What the...

Classy website I didn't get to the cat milk part yet, but so far the best part of the horse actor page was the last picture of a mini gelding getting ready to...well...pee. Amazing that a person would breed an animal with medical issues simply to make money.

Need some help/advice on barn/feral cats

Generally, I'm a live and let live kind of gal, but I had a feral cat that avoided my live trap and kept wounding my other cats. I had my husband "disappear" him. We've had other ferals come around but they only pass through once they find there is no free food (I don't leave it out at night)...

    Finding You All

Okay, Take a map of the United States, put your finger in the middle of it and that is pretty close to where I live. I live in a village called Ithaca, Nebraska (pop.169)which is west of Omaha and north of Lincoln. Lately our weather has ranged from sunny 60*F, rainy 39*F, to frickin cold 5*F...

    Scammers reach new lows...

I was amused to read that they are "writhing" to know if you are dead or not. The uncertainty must be painful for them. They really ought to get an English speaking person to proofread their intended scams.

    "Max" (5/29/2009-2/11/2011)

I, too, remember seeing his picture as a foal and thinking "Wow!" I am so sorry he passed. I thought he was so amazingly put together that I hope you have been able to breed more like him. (If you don't mind me saying so.)

    Human Cheese...

Okay...after I got over the "gag me with a fork" factor I still find the whole idea ridiculous. If there is such and overabundace of human breastmilk then it ought to be banked and sold to people who can't produce their own to feed their babies.

    Update on our Dumped Ducks

My thinking was they got the ducklings as pets and when they grew up they thought it would be nice to release them back into the wild probably while humming "Born Free".

Six creative ways to say, I love you

I have a husband who, let's just say, does not enjoy animals like I do nor does he quite understand WHY I like them. However...because he loves me he: 1. helps me put up and repair fencing on his days off, 2. helps me seed and maintain our 3 acre pasture, 3. will move/ haul hay bales, 4...

Have been watching this on the news for a few days...

I read your post and can't bring myself view the link. I have heard that psychopaths start with maiming and killing animals then move to hurtung and killing people. I'm thinking, if they find the person or people that did that they should be put down like rabid dogs.JMO

My recent conversation with a scammer

I laughed.. is that bad? I believe most (well, maybe half) of what he told you was true, except for the 3/4 to charity part. Many parts of the world have no use for pets and find it disgraceful that we spend our money on animals that we don't eat. They'd find me really disgusting; I have two...

    Goat People

I was just looking at theGoatSpot yesterday. I have 11 regular Fainters and miniature Silky Fainters and one Nubian wether that I think maybe part show jumping cow. I love all of their quirky personalities.
