    ASPC/AMHR horses question

Thanks! I'm really liking what I'm seeing in the Foundation Shetlands/AMHR ponies.

    ASPC/AMHR horses question

Okay, I just found the most amazing stallion who has just blown my mind. Inspiration is just flowing. I am finding myself trying to grapple the idea of creating something THAT nice and of course my first question starts with registration. The stallion in quest is AMHR/ASPC and I was under the...

    Color Possibilities

Remember, silver hides on red bases. You could have a chestnut, cremello, palomino, whatever, and still have a horse with the silver gene. You won't know unless they produce a silver or they're tested.

    Common Conformation Fault in Minis

Since I know we aren't allowed to post pictures of horses that aren't our own, I'm going to post a couple of MY horses that I am honestly not sure if they have good shoulders or not. That way, you can see some bad ones. ;) LMAO 2011 AMHR filly: July 2011 (3 months) May 2012- May 2013-...

    Bond Bred Horses

I think quite a few of his leg/hoof deformities can be attributed to a history of poor trimming. Poor tyke.

    Bond Bred Horses

I think part of the reason that he looks better in this photo is not only his age, level of care, and the angle that the photo is taken. A lot of the other pictures looked to have been taken at questionable times in his life, in pasture condition, not spiffed up like this one, and at an upper...

    Bond Bred Horses

Husseler looks very nice in that picture. There's a difference in him when he's cleaned up and not in pasture/breeding condition.

    Anxious Colt? Separation Anxiety?

He's doing a lot better, and Lavonne wasn't at all in it for the money. In fact, she didn't make a dime of this kid! She gave me some feed that he was on and about half a bale of hay (which helped a lot since all I had was pasture. It helped for the first couple days of him being in a lot and me...

    Anxious Colt? Separation Anxiety?

I know some breeders vary when they wean and that some wean at 4 months, I was pretty shocked to be honest. I always weaned my weanlings at 6+ months. (I've weaned at EIGHT months before-it was a filly) I've had varied experiences with weaning and how colts handled it, but I think with the...

    Anxious Colt? Separation Anxiety?

That's not what I'm talking about. I was responding to the above poster, not saying that, that was why I wanted to put him on a supplement.

    AMHR "V" = Revoked?

No kididing! Especially if you paid $400+ for hardshipping!

    Anxious Colt? Separation Anxiety?

LOL! I'll tell you said that. He's a sweet little tyke, but is prone to throwing fits. He's getting really good at being around people (he's was pretty wild when I got him two months ago) and actually at my vet appointment I had him loose and he just thought my vet was the most interesting...

    Anxious Colt? Separation Anxiety?

I just wanted to update on this. Brett is still having a little bit of issues. I sold my gelding suddenly and he's out with the herd now, only because we don't have any other way to feed two separate groups until winter (hay bales). I've been feeding him Triple Crown Growth and alfalfa pellets...

    AMHR "V" = Revoked?

Its a decent guess! I cant figure out what it could be and I'm trying to look in the AMHR rule book, but it doesn't tell you what exact page number out of 400+ pages, just sections. Aaaaarrrrrggh. However, in the look up of offspring there are foals with permanent papers and applications, and...

    AMHR "V" = Revoked?

I was looking at some offspring lookups and one of the foals I saw had the letter "V" at the end of their registration number. What does it mean, and what could the reason be?

    Bond Bred Horses

This was definitely my thinking. My colt has Bond bred horses in his top side 5+ generations back and they're the only thing that worries me besides the Komokos. Before I got my colt (I was offered him. I wasn't looking for one) I actually almost turned him down due to the Bond in him. (Not...

Coat Color and Pattern likes and dislikes

I'm pretty lame. Plain Jane chestnut and bay. I like Appaloosas but I do not like excessive mottling on the eyes. I don't find it attractive at all, but I haven't had to worry about it since I have appies with little Appaloosa characteristics.

Regarding the possible future DNA testing for Chondrodysplasia-like Dwarfism

Time travel would be fantastic, and not even to mess with people but just to see these horses! I was finally able to track down a GOOD portion of my 2013 colt's pedigree, but there are STILL missing links. I would give anything to go back in time and just SEE what a lot of these horses look like...

    Silver Appaloosa breeder?

Yes thank you! I had liked their stallion and wanted to look him and his foals up. Thanks again!
