here are some pictures of the fillys Dam...as a foal and at a year and a half...grey or silver dapple varnish? Definitely not a bay ;o)

well..since we have brought up the mare..I hate to throw a gog in the wheel..but she is not a bay..I got a baby book with her when I bought her(now how cute is that) and her foal pictures show her as a dove grey color(like a grulla ) which I am now thinking she must be a silver dapple(?) varnish...

It is BOTH sides with the head turned towards you...that makes it hard when you try and take pictures by yourself....who knows why..maybe cause you see the face on the papers

who has a test for dun??? I did not know there was one available...course sometimes I live in a box...HA! yes I will post the results...crazy colors! bays can be born black? My bays always look like bays as foals...anyone have pictures?

so what should I test for? I am curious when foals have a dorsal that IS counter shading as with a lot of Bays...when do they disappear?? If it stays than she carries a dun factor...correct?

well..imagine my surprise when I opened my black appaloosa fillys papers and they listed her as a buckskin appy...hhhmmmm..mom is a grey appaloosa..dad is a bay varnish appaloosa... I thought she might be a grey but the color around her eyes turned a golden color which I thought was just sun...

I just bought a lovely little mare that on her Permanent papers she is listed as 34 inches....got her home and looking at her ..thought..hhhmmmmmm she just looks smaller than that...I had just bought a mini measure stick ( thanks KayKay) so 3 of us measured her at 32.50...have had them taller...

ooooohhh...I like her..she is beautiful What a way to start...

We bred 6 mares...lost one foal....we are keeping one appaloosa filly and have sold the other 4 babies...plus a stallion...I feel very Blessed especially now days when money is so tight...but it seems like the 'right' people always show up and are perfect matches with the ones they buy....we are...
