Gotta love hubbies, but sometimes it's hard

This topic made me laugh. I don't have a husband but from this topic they sound like so much "FUN" I almost wish I did. Almost.

    A Sad Day :(

Would adding a pasture mate cause any problems?

At my place any new gelding is given the rounds of the kitchen by king of the castle Lord Humphrey (gelding) just to let them know who's boss. Mares seem to be greeted with "hello darling". I have 23 and they all get on with little drama. They should soon sort themsleves out but as Marty...

To geld or Not to geld?

Yep, what everyone else has said. Geld them both. From their point of view they will have much happier lives and your little mare will be safe from any possible foaling woes. Just the ever so humble opinion of someone with a paddock full of happy geldings (and frustrated mares).

New to donkeys... expecting a mule baby soon.

I guess that is one way to get rid of an unwanted donkey...a bit drastic though. Is that him in your avatar?......handsome fellow. Can't wait to see photos of your little mule.

    Another leading question

A word of caution..........beware the whip. Some people go overboard when you put a whip in their hand. ........just saying.

    My husband's shoe

I love it when my little guys sniff and nibble at my shoes.

    Predator strategy - guard donkey

No, dingos wouldn't bother minis. Infact in my 60plus years I've never seen a dingo outside of a zoo and I've travelled extensively. A pack of dogs........well that would be another story. Fortunately I haven't seen any of those either. Touch wood! A pack of wild humans would be the biggest...

    Do you like to color?

A couple of years ago I bought a My Little Pony colouring book. I coloured every page. Loved it.

    Predator strategy - guard donkey

A small standard donkey would be a nice snack for mountain lion. Don't do it please, My suggestion....move to Australia Kangaroos and wombats aren't interested in minis. I have seen my 4 donkeys chase a fox across the paddock but I've also seen them stand in a circle curiously inspecting a...

    This is the year: EXERCISE

My neighbour has standardbreds and he chases them around on a bike and they RUN and seem to enjoy it. I chase my herd with a quadbike when want to get them out of the pasture twice a day and they pretty much ignore me. I'm waving the lunge whip, blowing the horn, yeehaaing and yaahooing and...

    To the Divorcees...

There is no way in this life or the next that I would work to support a man. End of story.

    Anyone Else Anxious for Spring?

On the other hand................I'm hanging out for winter. January was just so HOT.

    Safe toys for minis

My donkeys seem to enjoy the big orange traffic cones. They carry it around by the top, sometimes two of them carry it together. They also enjoy dragging around a big heavy rubber hose, sometimes for quite long distances. My ponies don't seem interested in playing with anything but I might give...

Fun personal Q's about your journey with Minis!

How many minis do you have? I have 23 minis (for my sins). How did you get into minis? When I lived in suburbia a woman who lived around the corner had one. I fell in love. Do you show your minis? A little. Not many shows around here. What classes to you enjoy most? Halter classes are...

When do you save "enough is enough"?

I've started answering this post 4 times and deleted each one. What a miserable time for all concerned. I know it's hard and never gets easier but it seems to me that "enough is enough" already. I'm sure many others may not agree but that's my 2 cents worth. Good luck and chin up whatever...

    New Puppy... Big and Fluffy!

    Just a hunk-a-hunk-a-puppy love.

    Did I just mess up?

Sorry for your situation but that probably will only be the first of many ''mistakes'' you and yours will make along the joyful trail to horse ownership. Not being a smart****, just speaking from painful experience. At least you have a husband you can blame. Is the paddock you mention...
