i am just thankfull for the whole year. We started with no ASPC mare and now we have three great mares. I just love and adore all three. They all three are also in foal. I am thankful that my two other mares are in foal. My warmblood mare has given birth to a very sweet filly. Sometimes I can't...
If my Secret Santa waits formore hints it is the same with me. we have all kinds of horses from miniature to warmblood, 3dogs, 6 cats, goats, chicken and llamas. You can#t go wrong if it is horse related.
I don't know if it belongs here but I have just send my secret santa gift. I hope it will arrive soon at my person's place. It would be nice if I could get a message when it arrives because it has a long way to go.
Please move if it doesn't belong in this thread.
Hello,
does anyone of you know Riley of Rivendell miniature horse? A few month ago I have ordered three foal blankets but couldn't get in touch with them since. Perhaps they have gotten a new email adress?
Thanks.
Jessica
Been there - done that.
I have here a mare that is DNA'd and because she was exported to Germany her papers weren't updated and lost. I have contacted the actually registered owner in the US and she wasn't willing at all dealing with me. She doesn't even answer my phone calls or emails. A...
Here in Germany we have a lot of brands for flax seed oil but I have never heard of refrigerating it or even that they recommend freezing it. I have never done that and we are feeding flax seed oild or sun flower oils for almost 20 years.
I would think that this is what she are planing: Registering the foal. Why shouldn't it be possible to register the foal?
And I wouldn't see any harm in this either.
I am told that there are two difficult phases of pragnancy in hores are the first 42 days and then again between day 90 to 120 because the source of the hormones providing pregnancy changes its origin. I am sorry that I cant explain it better in english.
I am so sorry for your loss and I hope...
In ASPC/AMHR it is aonce in a lifetime 100$ fee.
Perhaps some stallion owners considering AI should post here and ask if someone would be interested in AI for their mares. Perhaps one could make a week or so in which the stallion gest collected. With todays Regumate and HcG I don't think there...
Christina Aurich stated in her book "Reproduktionsmedizin beim Pferd" that there are studies showing that size doesn't matterand isn't associated to sperm output.
In the University Wien they use for educational purposes native Shetland stallions because they are smaller and less dangerous. They have done some studies regarding their semen. You can inseminate as much mares as in the big horses and it is more likely easy to freeze.
The only probem with...
I don't think that it is that much expensive. The problem is if more people want to A.I. then it is cheaper because there are some bloddwork to be done and one actual collection can be splitted to inseminate up to 5 mares. So if more people in Europe would join and ask for one stallion at a time...
Mary-Lou, thank you for the little something you promised me and I have got today!!!
You are the best, I have almost forgotten that you promised me something in the beginning of this year!!!
I have bought a mare like that a few weeks ago. The former owner told me she is over 20 years old and she was barely handlable, only with a calming shot from the vet. They hav had her over ten years and they weren't able to catch her. We have had her one week and now she runs to me every time...
I have contacted the AMHA last moth about hardshipping and they told me they don't hardship outside the US. (I live in Germany.)
In my understanding you wouldn't be able to get your mare hardshipped.
