    Cold and Wet

    I live in the icebox of the nation (you can look it up, it exists, literally) and we use blankets if it's super cold (like -50 degrees Fahrenheit) but we har the advantage to a heated barn for them. Our horses beg for their blankets! We love them! We have heavy winter ones, hunting season ones...

    Anyone use Nutrena Senior?

    Same here we use the neutrena senior, mare and foal, and safe choice! After we started using it our horses have shiny, healthy coats and my 22 year old paint mare has the senior and she looks like she's 15! It's miracle food and we have compared it to other top of the line grains and this one...

    Why past owner refuses to turn over papers????

    Even I people want them as pets, they do like to have papers mostly to say that their mini is registered and they have their pedigree. I have had this happen and I don't think the owners should be able to hold papers back if the mini is registered

    I really need to wean my foal right now because her mom has a huge belly ( it has not gone back down since birth) and her hips are showing and she is on grain, grass, and alfalfa mixed hay!

    pros/cons for fly masks

    In northern minnesota the flies and gnats have been so bad it's almost unbearable for the horses or even for us!

    So he cut her hooves today and they look wonderful!! He cut them to the bloodline and made her stand up better on them!! Yay!! I will post pics of them tomorrow since it is so late here. I just got back from out of town and went and checked her feet!!

    I would just leave them together. I live in northern Minnesota and my mare just foaled in April and I am just starting to wean them but in your case I would leave them together!
