Well, things are shaping up. I have been asking around to try to come up with a catchy name for our Grand Presentation. Asked a bunch of old timers like me and nothing too neat came to mind. So I asked some kids. Kids are cool. The Run For R Roses. The R being large for AMHR. Well, Tara latched on to that one and man has she sent me some neat stuff. As soon as I can get Jean to put it up you can take a look.

We will have an R Grand Championship Table too this year. I hope I can get a tablecloth done in time.

I got a hold of that nice guy that did the roses last year and he is going to make them up in boxes that are made for presentations. Darcia said that she would work with us to set up a background for pictures with the roses for the winners. Wait until you see the ads Tara has done. Very Cool. Love that kid. Renee

Thanks Leeana, I was going to add. We will have all past winners on display at table. My goal is this National Scrapbook on display at this table. For so many of us Nationals hold so many memories of not just the horses, but of our lives. So many, many friends and family. Some are not even with us any more.

Tara can do these fancy computer books that look so professional, but that is not what I have on my mind. I want a scrapbook on display that brings together old friends and ties us to the new people. A conversation book.

There was the Larry-Bob Nationals. There was the dog doodoo Nationals. There was the 911 Nationals. These are a few things that stick in my mind. Everyone has different memories. Oh the Laughs and Oh the friends.

So at R National Grand Champion table I will put out a box. If you have any COPIES of pictures of previous Grand Champions I would like to start this Scrapbook. Also if you can think of anything that sticks out in your mind from a previous year just drop it in the box. It will not be a fancy book. It will be, hopefully a book that will encourage people to sit down together -renew old friendships and make new ones.

I guess to me this National Grand thing is a way to gage the years.

I think you need to have the photo up on the internet, such as photobucket etc.

I know, but this mac is different. Some times I just lay down on the floor and cry.

Ruffian, Do you know how to do it? I could send it to you. Jean usually helps me, but she probably has gone to work.

The flower guy just called and is going to make up 6 pretty boxes, with a dozen long stem roses in each, to be given to owners and one single rose to be handed to each handler.

Mark, I know that you will come up with the best music. I just hope that you can work in- Living On Tulsa Time and Your the Reason God Made Oklahoma.

Larry said that he would hand out flowers again and we are hoping that owners come out and accept flowers and get there pictures taken over at Darcia's spot. Of Course if Larry wins one we will have to find someone else.

I am so glad that there is such a thing as this, as I feel the Grand Champion horses are the leading edge of our breed and that we should embrace that. I was lucky enough to see "The Grand Event" in person last year, and it was amazing to watch and I hope we continue this!

Maybe in the future driving Stake Champions could have a similar event?

How AWESOME and what a cool name!!!! Wow... and I agree about including driving horses in the future since our Minis are so versatile! How terrific!! That is a totally cool sign!

I am glad you like the name. Everyone I have talked to thinks it is pretty cool too. Tara is working on some great posters.

The beauty of this award is the timing. Usually awards take what seems like hours. This takes about ten minutes and hopefully it is not boring and is at the end of the halter classes and before liberty so there is a little break there anyway. It doesn't cost the registry anything and sets the mood for the whole night, which has always been our kind of let your hair down night. Halter is done and no driving that night and usually free pizza. ( Don't know this year)

We don't want to mess anything up for the show management or make more work for anyone. Just simple, loud and fast and fun.
