What about a single long stemmed rose given to the handler, or, what is the Oklahoma state flower?

I got to thinking if we went with corsages and boutonnières would we have to get 6 of each as we would not know if it where ladies or men that would be up there. You could kind of figure that we would be safe going with 6 boutonnieres, but you never know once in a while it does happen. I think I could die a happy woman if we could ever have 6 ladies up there holding horses.

I don't see a problem with a lady wearing a boutonnière. I think they have worn them at showers, weddings that sort of thing.

Actually I think to simplify this.. if the owners of the horses are to be present say all come center ring while the trainers/handlers present the horses couldn't the owners then take a nice vase or arrangement of flowers and be the one to hold or carry the flowers out of the ring while the trainers/handlers had the horses and even during pictures?
