It's getting close to graduation for my eight grader (middle school) ok so tell me what does the average 8th grade girl wear to this kind of thing these days?? Please ideas anyone?? Styles, length straps?

Geez I can see 12th grade going all out --but 8th?? Please someone clue me in.

The only store we have in town is Wal Mart and I have a feeling that she isn't going to let me get away with that.

Ok I'm off to a 4H thing now but I will be back later so let's hear what I'm in store for. :ugh:

Did I mention that I HATE to shop.

Aww! 8th grade grad!!!!

I wore a ruffly, longer than the knees but not too long, white and pink floral dress. Spaghetti straps or halter top are the "it" thing, but she will need a shawl.

My niece is graduating 8th grade in June, and she picked out a lovely white - not white white but not off white either

: - dress with black flowers on the skirt. The top of the dress has thin straps but she also picked a nice little jacket to match. It is a simple yet sophisticated dress that is appropriate for her age. Not too flashy but pretty and nice.

Okay well I graduated from 8th grade like two years ago, and I wore a dress that my mom bought at DEB. Just soemthing simple, but dressy, not too fancy or expensive. But you should also think about getting something that would be good to wear to a semi-formal high school dance so that you can reuse it. Shoes, i would recomend silver or black dressy flip flops or kitten or smallish heels (but don't get those chunky heels those are so 1999

: ) Keep it simple but dress it up with details like accesories that you can ear when ever.

Yep, DEB is where my daughter says most of her friends go. Thats good advice about the dance thing.

Thanks for your replys. Now I just wish I didn't have to drive 100 one way miles just to get a dress.
